Hey guys and gals
I was curious what kinds of foods do you eat during break time at work?? I'm starting a new office jobs that gives me 2, 15 minute breaks. what are the best choice of food to eat in that short time?? I would like to do a soild foods meal then downing a shake.
I was maybe thinking something like yogurt and beef yarky.
any go suggests, Getbiger''s ??
thanks for the repies

Just cook up extra portions of whatever you're having for dinner and bring them to work in a tupperware. Too much sugar or fat in yogurt to make it 2 meals of every day imo. I wouldn't eat beef jerky unless I was trapped on the Donner Pass! Ick!

Beef jerky takes too long to eat. If you're looking for solid food, you might want to try either canned tuna, canned chicken, or Tofurkey sausages (although you'd have to heat them up first, before eating them). Yogurt would be a good option. For carbs, either prep your potatoes/yams and veggies ahead of time or take canned potatoes and veggies with you.
For me, even that got to be a chore. So, I opted to use protein bars and liver tablets (and the occasional bagel) for my solid meal, during the early part of my day. The other two meals are shakes (i.e. IsoPure and ON Whey Gold Meal). That ties me over until lunch, when I can relax and eat regular food.

I think Tom Platz was pro pop tarts as a BB food.

for short break i usually have oatmeal and tuna or eggwhites
Tuna is especially good as it doesn't need cooling, you can just leave some tupperware full of it on your desk. Put barbeque spice on it to make it taste better.

is there a way to get the small out of the tuna?? I really dont want to smile like fish the whole day.

Like someone said bring some left-overs (depending on what they are). Try snacks like nuts, jerky, yogurt, granola, etc.
Try the following:
1 cup of brown rice
1 can of black beans
8-16 ounces of lean ground beef
Season to taste (hot sauce, pepper, etc)
(mix it together & you'll have anywhere between 2-4 serving that should be pretty filling)
-
PUT ALL IN A TUPPERWARE CONTAINER, MIX AND EAT WHENEVER:
1-2 c. Cottage Cheese of choice
1 x Yoplait Lite of LITE of any choice (Fat Free Yogurt has 2x the sugar)
1 or 2 pc fruit (Banana, Berrys, Etc...)
-OR-
1 Pc fruit (cup of berrys, banana, apple, orange)
1 oz or 1/4 c. mixed nuts or almonds or 2tbsn. PB
1-2 scoops of Protein Powder (shake with water)
Both snacks are easy, fast and quick to eat ;)

I could easily eat the whole thing but I try to at least break it up into two portions (three if possible). It also depends on what other snacks I have on hand too.

skim milk.

During the week I usually keep 1 or 2 cottage cheese containers at work in the fridge along with some yogurt and wheat germ. I usually take in a chicken breast sandwich/hot dish/pasta for my breaks and always have some peanut butter in my cooler with some whey in a shaker bottle. This way, I always have options to eat and it's not the same ol' everyday.
