just looks to me like he site injected the shit out of his side delts and it's loaded with oil, scar tissue and it looks infected  :-X

a guy at my gym had to get his shoulder drained cause it was infected it was nasty and it looked just like Bertil's shoulders, very lumpy

there was no synthol in bertrils day,, he had the same mass in the 70's as he did in the late 80's... he may have site injected alot, but that means fuck all

Likely just site injected Esiclene (a.k.a. Formebolone) which was huge in the 80s and 90s.  Chris Clark hadn't brought Synthol to bodybuilding until 1997.
