Title: Murse??
Post by: Dos Equis on August 22, 2008, 07:32:24 PM
So I was complaining to my secretary about a girlie bag she had me carry home yesterday and she told me they have men's purses called a "murse."  What the heck?!?  Never heard of those.  Have you ever seen a straight man with a murse?  What next, men's pantyhose??   :-\

(I had to explain to guy on the elevator that the bag wasn't a purse.)

I think there was an episode on "Seinfeld" about a murse or man-bag or something.  Maybe it was "Friends."

I have a friend since childhood whose dad had a murse but we're pretty sure he was gay.

You gotta be gay to carry a murse.

It was Seinfeld.  The one with the fur, Joe Mayo's apartment, Jerry's quote, "I got JIGGY with it!" and Newman sleeping with the super's wife.  They called the purse a "European carry-all" and Jerry got more effiminate the more he used it.

"Murse" can also stand for "male nurse" as seen on a couple  Scrubs episodes.

Got that right.  No man in Mayberry carries a murse, not even Gomer.  We make him go to Mount Pilot for that.
