I am 36 years old and just had my test levels checked. I haven't gotten the results back yet. Just wondering if my levels are low and I can get it should I expect much of a kick from it? I know they will give me just enough to get my levels back to normal. Anybody with experiences? Also, is the patch as good as the shots? I am guessing not. Sorry if this has been asked before.

Depending on how low they are, it could be like night and day. Your mood, levels of energy, alertness, confidence factor, overall well being etc will all get a big boost.

Thanks guys. The doc told me insurance will cover it which is good since I have very good insurance. Just hoping I can get some. Sounds weird that I am actually hoping my test is low, haha. How about the patch versus injections? Thanks.

Injections work much better than the gels, or patches.

Transdermals have the major drawback of being able to rub off on the woman you're fucking, which won't do much for her femininity. :( They're probably not going to provide any more T bloodlevel stability than a long ester shot taken 1x week, although they might mimick the body's natural up and down levels as you put 'em on or take 'em off at different times of the day/night. Absorbtion levels probably vary from person to person (and possibly even with the same guy over time) so checking your levels periodically would be wise.
The lowest maintenance HRT would be an implant which lasts for months at a time. I don't know much about these tho.
At 36, I'd consider looking deeper into the cause of low T before jumping straight on the HRT, unless of course you're just looking to do a cycle in which case you should definitely get the injectable and run it at super-HRT levels.

I would say "fuck the dermals" and go right for the injections. Up here they'll show you how to pin and you can score some cyp and fill your prescription at the pharmacy with no hassle. I also wouldn't jump right into the HRT. I wouldn't mind pinning for life, but if I can abstain for as long as possible then it'd be easiest. Minimize the strain on your wallet, potential for infection and definite scar tissue build up. A nice little cycle and proper PCT may bring you right where you want to be. :)

Virilization would be a BIG concern for me. I wouldn't want my wife looking manly. :-X
I recently saw a show which suggested that high levels of fetal testosterone were strongly correlated with autism and asburgers syndrome, so a pregnant wife would be something else to consider. One drop on her and you've got Rain Man. :'(

That's good. Next time you get a check up, ask what the levels are exactly. It's all a matter of perspective. You can have the same test levels as a 12 year old boy and your doctor can tell you that they're good.
My doctor was a fukcing retard. He told me to find a mate, have kids and be good to my neighbor. Can I sue for that? LOL... during PCT when my test levels were shot he tried convincing me that I was doing well. I had to point out my prolactin, LH, FSH, SHBG, free test and all that shit... THEN he was like "ohhh.................... .". Needless to say, it's best to get some numbers at least for contrast and comparison purposes. It wouldn't hurt to have them on hand. All that matters at the end of the day is that you're good and healthy though, rock on, man. Hope you're feeling great. 8)

Exactly. You can still call the doctor and find out exactly what the levels were. As Dustin stated, it's a huge range for "normal" and even though you may fall into that range, it definitely would help to be on TRT.

"High" to some docs is 300.
250 is the lower end of the range :-\
Call them back and ask for your results, they will give you a copy if you ask.
Usually, a regular doc will tell you that your levels are fine if you test within the range, where as a sports medicine doc will tell you the truth if you are on the lower end!
I just talked with a trainer at my gym who is in his 40's and tested at 700!!! Bastad has never taken anything, just naturally high. What a dick. 8)

Thanks for all the input guys. Good idea about getting a copy of the results. My doc is a sports medicine doctor. He is a real cool guy, but don't think I could talk him into giving me test if he doesn't think I need it, haha. Actually, I have been lifting on and off since I was 17 and I am still improving, so I can't complain. I still feel good, i was just taking a chance I could get a little extra test. ;D

Go see a HRT specialist. There opinion may differ from even a SM Doc! Do an honest assessment and give them your blood work. My personal Doc told me my natty test was normal and it was on the extreme low side of the scale.

You won't know anything until you see the numbers in the lab's range.

Hey guys. I asked the doc to send the results of my testosterone test. Total test is 422. Free test is 143.1. Free test% is 3.39. I'm not sure how these are. Thanks for all the input.

Don't know if lab ranges are standard in the US or not. You'll need to know the lab range for those tests to determine your standing.
My gut says total T is low since I predict your lab's range to be 300-1200 or thereabouts, but don't quote me on that.

The range is 250-1100. I just noticed, though that the range on free test is 35-155 and mine is 143.1. The range on free test% is 1.50-2.20. Mine is 3.39. So it is good there. I don't know if I'm right or not, but I read something about for building muscle free test is most important. If so, i guess I am good, but not sure.

My total test was 357 and was prescribed 1% testim 50 mg tube per day (which my insurance and a nice sample card the doc gave me from Testim makes it free).. After a month my total test was 723. I'm feeling pretty darn good and even if its placebo, I'll take it.

your test levels are fine, you are in the normal range. Sounds like maybe you need a anti depressant, not test injections, do you really want to stick a needle in your every week for the rest of your life?

My total test was 357 and was prescribed 1% testim 50 mg tube per day (which my insurance and a nice sample card the doc gave me from Testim makes it free).. After a month my total test was 723. I'm feeling pretty darn good and even if its placebo, I'll take it.
Its not placebo, it works for raising test levels.

I agree, but if the patch is all you your insurance will cover, and you want to stay legal it will get your low test levels into a normal range.

Yeah, if it were the only option then I'd take it rather than taking nothing. The worst sides appear to be some disappointment and a funky odor I'd imagine.
