Everyones thinking it but nobody wants to say anything here in Chicago.

The playoffs are a combination of skill, luck, and timing.

Harden/Zambrano is a really good 1-2, so, if they're hot, anything can happen.

Actually, the NL teams have some tremendous 1-2 punches:

Sabathia/Sheets
Webb/Haren
Santana......

Anyway, those are better top two starters than most of the AL contenders.

I think the Cubs aquiring Harden really put them over the top as a contender.... as long as he stays healthy, they've been trying to keep his pitch count down.

hahaha, exactly, the Cubs are here in town for a series and Dempster is pitching tonight, the cards have a great chance to do some catching up in the central division but they have to play well, there's been some talk today around town of Pujols shutting it down becase he needs elbow surgery but i think he'll ride out the rest of the season.

I think they are done...most blown saves in baseball if it weren't for all the blown saves this could have been a very meaningful series

yeah you're probably right, 19 games left, if they could take 2 out of this series and win some games the rest of the way they could catch up, remember the Cubs have 19 games left and EVERY ONE of them is against a winning record team, Milwaukee has 19 left as well and 13 are against teams with winning records, the Cards are only 4 and a half games behind Milwaukee in the Wild Card race, let's see what happens.

I think the worst thing for us is to reach the playoffs...my reason is then ownership says see we were in it we were  competitive and then it is the same old thing not going after big time free agents like they promised with the new stadium.  The bullpen has been a disaray also I think because nobody knows there role it is a mix and out of there comfort zone.  But I still want to see them make it because season starts over in the playoffs.

you have to remember that ownership is basically just trying to pay down the debt on the new stadium and then they'll probably sell the team.

it's frustrating because the Cards had their chances but couldn't do shit, playoff caliber teams come through in those situations, that fuccking Soriano is an incredible ball player, the only thing to watch now is to see if Pujols wins the batting crown.
