...UFC President Dana White will hold a media conference call later today to make a major UFC announcement. The call will take place at 3pm ET/12Noon PT.
Most are speculating this is a Randy Couture back in the UFC announcement...

God knows that it better not be something stupid..
It could be that the UFC will be taking over Elite XC's spot on CBS.. that has been rumored as of late as well.

After a very public split with the organization back in October, reigning UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture has agreed to return to the UFC, and he'll meet Brock Lesnar in a UFC 91 championship bout with Brock Lesnar.
UFC President Dana White today confirmed the news in a media conference call.
White also confirmed that UFC 91 will take place Nov. 15 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas -- not at the Rose Garden Arena in Portland, Ore., as first expected.
As part of Couture's return to competition, White confirmed that their ongoing legal battle has been resolved.
"I think some compromises were made on both sides," Couture said.
"All I give a [expletive] about is that he's back and fighting," White said.
White also confirmed that the winner of an upcoming fight between interim heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Frank Mir will meet the Couture vs. Lesnar winner sometime in 2009 to unify the titles.

WOW
i guess the fight between Randy and big Nog is out.
I guess Dana is hoping that Brock will inflict some damage on randy thereby screwing up/delaying any future plans for randy Vs Fedor.
This will be interesting nevertheless.
Randy's experience and strategy Vs Brock's Speed, power and youth.
Is Randy merely completing his last fight on the contract or has he and the UFC re-negotiated a new contract?

I can't believe they are giving Lesner a title shot.
-
Where does this leave Mir Vs Nog after TUF finishes airing?
They were supposed to fight for the title.

Thanks dude- I must have missed that.
I guess this means that Randy has a new contract deal.
Mark Cuban must be pissed since he helped Randy out with his legal bills during the UFC court cases.

By the way the UFC will not take the CBC spot from Elite. There are such things as contracts and even a performance based contract has got to be longer than just two fight promotions. If not then Elite deserves to lose it. And if there wasn't something in the contract regarding not allowing a rival organization to be with the smae network then they deserve to lose too

EliteXC has done so many foolish things that I would not be surprised if the allowed CBS to totally negotiate the contract to terminate their agreement at will.

Randy has now bee extended to a 3 fight deal with the UFC. Man there must have been a hell of a deal put in front of him, going from 2 fights left to gaining a fight. Guess we won't see him fight Fedor any time soon
