Post by: chaos on September 02, 2008, 08:25:12 PM
does it matter?

Should it be low 2-4 reps or higher 6-10?

depends.  What exercise are you training and what are you trying to do with the bands?

bench---sets of 3 reps

squat---doubles

Deadlifts---singles

follow Louies guidelines from Westside on band use.

definitely singles on banded deadlifts, you don't want to be rebounding off the floor on band deadlifts.

This is interesting. Why should the rep range be different?

for a person familiar with westside training methods I thought it was an excellent read.  Its not something for  anewbie to pickup and expect to know everything, but it did fill in alot of gaps and gave great examples.

I thought it alos tied together several of his articles in probably the easiest to read publication I've ever seen from Louie.  I have to wonder who ghost wrote it for him.  ;D

?

I'm sure you could use them in any rep range for other reasons, but for power lifting they are best used in the 1-3 rep range to build lockout strength and explosiveness.

You dont want to rebound off the floor for any kind of deadlift.  Just for the record.
