I agree with Obama

I'll assume you agree with both quotes.

1.  Why is a child punishment?  You can answer this question without turning this into an abortion rant.

2.  When did this country become "not what it once was?"  Is there a specific date?

3.  Why would you not want your children to grow up in this country?  The greatest ever!

If you don't live in US, then please, ignore my questions and move on, you won't be voting anyway.

Hey dictator, I didn't start this thread and I don't know why it states I did.
So what the hell are you talking about?

2.  January 20, 2001 - The date "Bush the dumber" was sworn into office.

Obama wants a nation that is respected by the world as the US was, for the most part, after WWII.  W has screwed that and McCain, by walking in lockstep with W and the current administration (instead of being the maverick he once was), is on the road to more of the same.

What was wrong with the first Quote?

You think our Country is in good shape right now?

Do you think our founding fathers would be proud of the way we've allowed are politicians to circumvent our Constitution?

I agree 100% with his first Quote, and it's not Anti American in the least.

I split the thread.  Next time start a new topic where your post is a different subject to the thread you're replying in.  It's a red herring otherwise.  You successfully diverted the thread to talking about the quote you wanted to talk about.  That's a herring.  Just start a new thread, people will get that you're posting a quote for discussion in strategic response to the thread that set you off.  Or just make sure to address the person's post and there wouldn't be a problem.  It's really easy man.  This doesn't have to happen.

Finally someone with some smarts.
You are not anti American because you question your government. If government is fucking up then it is your duty as an AMERICAN to question it for the betterment of the Country...If someone feeds you  cold shit on a stick and tells you its a Chocolate Popsickle are you wrong for saying "fuck no im not eating this shit?'

Yeah, RPF hit it on the head.  The very nature of government by the consent of the governed lends itself to criticism of the government.

Did anyone accuse Reagan or Bush or McCain of anti-americanism b/c they roundly and caustically criticized the government as big, inefficient, the problem with AMerica?

Obama is making the USA look bad . He is basically telling the rest of the world that he is not proud of our country at the moment and agreeing with the rest of th world. Even if the USA is going through some trouble currently you stick by it and even if you have to, pretend like it is the best DAMN nation out there.

That's some serious spin.

One of the great things about this country is people can do nothing but complain and they have that right, and others, like me, have just as much of a right to tell those whiners that they suck.

"Anti-American", "America Basher" that is trivial and beside the point.  You do an excellent job of gumming up threads with that kind of garbage.

By the way, was there a certain instance in this thread where someone accused mightymouse of accusing anyone of being Anti-American Beach Bum?  Did you just pull that out of your ass?

I'm fine with the first quote and all I can say about the second quote is that I agree with the sentiment (i.e. if his kids make a mistake then he'd like them to have options) but he probably could have used a better word than "punishment" to describe an unwanted pregnancy.  Then again, without the benefit of a "choice" and unwanted pregnancy could very well be construed as a punishment for the mistake of not using contraception

To the first quote, I'd don't think you can put an exact date on it but I'd say starting around the time of Reagan and definitely after Bush was "selected" as leader.  At that point Bush/Cheney started their campaign of cronyism, secrecy, and then, after allowing our country to be attacked mulitple times, started chipping away at our civil liberties and putting us on the road to financial disaster.

BTW - I'm glad Palin is proud of her daughter but I have no respect for a parent who is too stupid to realize that teenagers (and adults) sometimes have a hard time abstaining and when that happens they need to have a back up plan ..... maybe something as simple as a condom.

What is Obama going to do differently? Give up on fighting terrorist's who despise us, raise tax's, divide the US more then  ever by putting Democrat's against Republicans's, and not just on political issues but more deep rooted issues such as race, religion and social status. He's basically saying "It's us against them", them being American's.

So in your reality, American Bashing is synonymous with what?  Patriotism?  Pro-American senitments?

For the record,  MM said nothing about criticizing the government, you did.
