Obama Fundraiser: Palin Putting Career Above Family
by FOXNews.com
Saturday, September 6, 2008
An original member of Barack Obama’s finance committee said Friday that Sarah Palin is putting her career above her family by accepting the nomination as John McCain’s running mate.
Howard Gutman made the argument on “The Laura Ingraham Show,” telling the radio host that the Alaska governor should focus her energy on her unwed, pregnant teenage daughter.
“If my daughter had just come home at 17 years old and said, ‘Mom, Dad, I’m pregnant, we have a family problem,’ I wouldn’t say, ‘You know what we’re going to do? We’re going to take this private family problem … I’m going to go on the international stage and broadcast it to the world’,” he said.
Gutman later added: “If you take a daughter who’s got this emotional strife and subject her to the most intense scrutiny of the world at this time in her life, I think you’ve put your career above your family.”
The Obama campaign couldn’t be reached immediately for comment, but Gutnam’s statements contrast starkly with the campaign’s declaration this week that Palin’s family is off limits for criticism. It isn’t clear what role, if any, Gutman still has in the campaign.
ABC News reported that the Obama camp issued a statement saying Gutman’s comments don’t reflect the campaign’s views.
Earlier in the week, Obama said anyone spreading rumors about Palin’s daughter’s pregnancy would be fired.
“I think people’s families are off limits, and people’s children are especially off limits,” Obama said. “This shouldn’t be part of our politics.”
Gutman called the teenage pregnancy a “pressure cooker” for the Palins, and also suggested her son’s Down syndrome should factor in to her decision.
“The proper attack is not that a woman shouldn’t run for vice president with five kids, it’s that a parent, when they have a family in need, a Down’s baby who needs them — a father or mother,” he said.
He said his argument had nothing to do with Palin being a woman.
“This wasn’t a working mother issue, this was a parent issue,” he said.

Tell me about. Still in panic mode.

Wow they need to get a grip, that is a slap in the face to many American moms, and women.

so.... Obama fired him.
He went on FOX radio, and made negative comments about palin.
And you want to connect him to Obama?
Well, obama did say he'd fire any employees that brought up palin. How can he punish EX-employees? When one of his real staffers says something, he deserves to catch shit. but when an EX-employee talks trash, it's not his fault.

I thought from the article 'original member' that he was no longer with the team. now I'm reading people complaining that he should be fired (which he should).
Is he still with the team? If you're spending your beautiful saturday playing gotcha instead of counting reps, all the power to ya! I wanna know if Obama's guy broke the order or not.

how many points do you get for starting threads on unsubstantiated rumors started by the far left bloggers and trying to pass them off as true and then refusing to admit you where wrong? Whatever it is you must have enough to get one of those loud whistles that you can blow everytime another blogger makes up some shit.
