If you took all the money that was used to bailout all the failing companies and split it between every American household it would come to $50,000 each.

Sources, please

potential 4.1 trillion in loans divided by 305 million americans is $13,000 each.
not sure what the bailout fees will actually be (200 bil guaranteed, but to 4.1 tril from what i've seen).
when you count in all the interest on interest we're paying over time, doubling every 7 year or less, 50k over the lifetime is entirely reasonable for total cost.
Either way, it blows. They loaned irresponsibly ONLY BECAUSE they knew they were federally insured and bush would give them this bailout. Everyone is asking for the bailout $ now... president Obama won't be so friendly.

I have to agree with you guys on this one. This bailout is BS.
Using public funds to bailout private business... >:(

if you cut out under 18, it's something like 18,000. Payment per household would be much bigger.

4.1 (or whatever) trillion would be the no. without the bailout. it's like a house. You can have hundreds of thousands of dollars in equity, but if you cant make a couple thousand dollars worth of payments, your creditors can foreclose and sell your shit. the govt basically keeps them liquid. still fucked up. and I want some bail out dough too.

Sorry people , I should have said household.
