Post by: Busted on September 13, 2008, 10:36:51 AM
Can this woman answer 1 question directly?? Its sickening... She goes off in tangents that have nothing to do with the questions that she was asked.  Its obvious she has memorized what she is told to say...

Wait she did say YES to over turning abortion... and NO to stem-cell research.  And if a woman is raped or incest she cant have an abortion....
She doesnt want semi automatic assault weapons to be banned... Moose hunters need AK-47's???

I like a lot of her positions.  She's a good ol fashioned republican.

however, she's a little crazy about religion, and she's just not tough enough for this job.  As Charles Gibson and her sit in that room... if I had to have one of them negotiating with world leaders on treaties, it'd be gibson.  He's tough.  She's not.  Her voice is shaky.

Pro-gun, limiting welfare, etc.  I don't mind her domestic repub postitions, for the most part.

However, her foreign policy positions - honestly - she doesn't even know them yet.  She said yesterday that Israel has every right to bomb Iran if they feel threatened at all.  Remember that BUSH keeps prevented them from bombing, as the oil shutdown will put the USA into a depression in a month.   Palin doesn't get this, it seems, as she just greenlit a bombing from isr.

Her team has these big posterboards with mccain's positions, and she studies the hell out of them trying to play catch up.  Honestly, I believe she's a great person and knows Alaska, but just doesn't have the experience.  She just got her passport in 2007, and has been to exactly 2 foreign nations overseas, plus mex and Can.

She's unprepared, but more than that, she got ruffled easily by Charles Gibson.  not good.

I keep seeing her get greased with facts and she ignores them.

Im pro-gun, but why do we need AK-47s??? That's extreme.

Where did she talk a bout limiting welfare?  How would she do this being a VP, remember the VP's only job is to vote when the senate is 50/50 on a bill.

we do need AK-47s.

If Syria woke up tomorrow and decided to fire a missile at someone...
If Israel decided tomorrow to bomb Iran...
if the US was hit with a nuke and we hit major middle eastern capital cities as we say we will...
If a rock falls from the sky and causes major nat'l disaster.

if anything happens that disrupts oil flow to USA, it'll be the caveman age in less than a month.  An AK will be very useful for keeping groups of aggressive beggars away.

The last AK47 fired in Australia was by a maniac killing 43 people in Tasmania a decade ago.

After that semi/automatic rifles were banned and people were required to hand in there weopons for compensation.

they need to do what roosevelt did during the great depression to a lesser extent:
1. government jobs for those who lost theirs
2. welfare for those who need it
and two things that didn't happen almost 80 years ago:
1. a mandate to make a gasoline substitute
2. universal healthcare for everyone who has social security (even though i may be liberal, i won't let people who hopped a fence cost us money)

of course not.  the premise was that due to disaster, world disruption of oil supply means our society stops functioning.  if police or national guard are too busy guarding gas stations or hospitals, they can't help you deal with hungry asshole neighbors.

they should drug test for welfare, and stop paying $ after 2 kids.

This way, we stop rewarding idiots who have 7 kids because they know they'll get another $150 per baby each month.  And test them for drugs and alcohol.  If you want free money, you can't get fcked up.  Perhaps without a beer and a joint in their hand, they'll be more motivated to go seek work.

lets attribute a percentage of being invaded to say .001%, in the mean time allowing average people to have Ak47s seems like a good wager? keep in mind that these people would be untrained in miliatary tactics and would most likely shoot more friendlies than enemies.

240,

1. what percentage of the national budget is welfare?
2. who are the largest recipient of these benefits?

so his solution for when a total breakdown of the government (chaos) is for untrained people to have AK47s? that is great forward thinking

if he is that concerned about it then why not be proactive about solutions now.

1. Institute a minimum of 50 miles/gl on new cars in 4 years.
2. Aritifcially raise the the price of gas to lower demand
3. start the planning and development of a cross country high speed rail system (no gas)
4. Mandate that the USA be energy independent in 15-20 years.
....

I totally agree with you, any law abiding citizen should be able to buy a gun, after a back ground check and required training.  You need to pass a minimum skills test to get a drivers licence, why not a gun

Let's look at numbers then.

Is unemployment higher or lower? It's lower than when Free trade started.

While the dollar's value is lower, that's been a good thing in a way because us exporting goods to other countries is cheaper.

Show me... In numbers where the economy (while not growing) is worse off now than other countries... Where is the US not prospering?

So people aren't buying cars from America... So what?

Our GDP is UP compared to before free trade... So how is that a bad thing?

my friend, you are not looking at the big picture.

we export zero in comparison to what we import..what that amounts to is wealth transfer.  Ameria is living off of the riches of the past, our current economic model is not sustainable.  22 cents out of every dollar is currently borrowed from a foreign entity.

I'm sorry, but I have to live and work in numbers... The numbers do not show that free trade has hurt America's economy at all.

It may have hurt some people who are used to having a Union wage and doing pretty much nothing to get paid outrageous amounts of money for that unskilled job they have, but as a whole in the economy, it has not hurt the US.

Where is it the governments job to make people get a job that makes them more money, or where is it the governments job to deny a country the ability to move certain functions and increase profits for shareholders.

That's capitalism... If you don't like it, you certainly shouldn't be in the US.

I am all for free trade, but from what I see free trade means..we buy other countries products.

capitalism means sending auto manufacturing jobs to a country with a $2/hr wage. Good for the company, bad for the 1000s of people losing their jobs in the midwest. Michigan is virtually a ghost down these days.

also what does free trade have to do with more american electing to buy their jeans that is 100% produced in america?

I’m hope she wins. At least she’s got balls to fire someone who isn’t doing their job correctly. She can’t be bought.
Someone mentioned getting raped and having to keep the baby and so was for pro-abortion, honestly, how many people get raped and get pregnant ( 1 out of  a billion? ). For all those irresponsible people who get pregnant and wasn’t smart enough to use protection, why does the baby have to pay with their life when they didn’t do anything wrong. It’s a f***en human life. Would you have the heart to kill a baby cat or a baby dog? Kill the baby inside the womb or outside, it’s just bloody muder.
