Sen. Joe Biden's a perfectly appropriate vice presidential running-mate for Sen. Barack Obama. He's got 36 years of Senate experience, is a true intellect, a foreign policy expert, and a genuinely nice guy. But ever since Sen. John McCain added plucky Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to his ticket, the old adage nice guys finish last is beginning to take on new meaning in this year's presidential contest. It's time to dump Biden and replace him with Sen. Hillary Clinton. I don't care how it's done. Campaign chief David Axelrod can figure that out. And the sooner the better. Because I'm starting to think that if Team-Obama doesn't do something dramatic fast, it's gonna lose this election. There's a worrisome shift in momentum and in the polls. The Palin phenomenon, while truly unfathomable to Democrats, has energized McCain's campaign and allowed him like Houdini to snatch Obama's "change" theme right out from under him. It's time to snatch it back.
Conventional wisdom says replacing Biden with Clinton can't be done. That it's too late. That it'll make Obama appear indecisive, impulsive and lacking good judgement. Many Democrats believe this would cause irreparable harm to the campaign, ringing Obama's death knell. But this couldn't be further from the truth. In fact, it'd be a freakin' coup for Obama, and would instantly melt Palin's undeserving outsize political ice cap.
To be sure, a Biden-Clinton switch would cause quite a stir in the media. They'd accuse him of all sorts of things, from being politically expedient and flip-flopping to being irrational and ill-equipped to be president. The talking heads on CNN, Fox and MSNBC would be locked in a non-stop frenzied orgy of derisive rhetoric. But we also know that it would make about 18-million Hillary voters ecstatic at the same time. So, honestly, who really cares what Joe Scarborough, Keith Olbermann, Wolf Blitzer or Brit Hume thinks? These pundits don't constitute an appreciable voting block. What they think and feel would be utterly dwarfed by the euphoria from Clinton's faithful supporters. It's a pretty safe bet that an Obama/Clinton ticket would capture virtually all of these loyal Clintonistas. It's also a safe bet that many of those highly coveted 18-49-year-old women who polls show migrated to McPalin this past week would drop the spunky little hockey mom in a heartbeat for Hillary. Lastly, it's an even safer bet that Obama's current voters would stick with him as well. So, where's the downside? Show me a Democrat, today, who'd dump Obama for McCain if Biden was replaced with Clinton? They don't exist.
Obama should do what the Republicans would do in this situation. In fact, he should do exactly what his opponent did. Shake things up. Be unconventional. Roll the dice. Out-McCain McCain. Who cares how it looks. Who cares what the media thinks. One thing's certain: there's an 18-million deep pot of gold out there waiting to be mined. An Obama/Clinton ticket would slam the door shut on this election.

They were very accurate in the John Edwards Love Child scandal.
They called it in Sept 2007, but the "real" media wouldn't touch it for 9 months.
They say they'll happily release their evidence, if Palin wishes to deny it. She has not.

I understand that, but all the tabloids do, regardless of truth or not, is dig up dirt on social lives, and in this case kids.
Kids drink and do drugs, theres no Brady Bunch left in America, and when I said I'm disappointed, its that you would abandon arguing with facts and statistics about whats actually important and peddle this garbage.

Simply not true, despite what the Clinton zealots and the repubes attempt to get you to believe. If Hilary would be such an unstoppable vote-getting juggernaut, how come she could not even win the democrat party nomination? ::)

Perhaps, you should ask that question to the folks who gave Bill Clinton a 5-minute standing ovation at the DNC.

Very basic and still very true.

With the budget surplus Clinton gave us, millions of new jobs, and a bustling economy, Bill Clinton deserved every minute of his ovation. After the last eight years, you'll have to forgive dems for feeling nostalgic.

Yeah because there is no dirt on Obama lol. There is more on him then any candidate in history.
Do you you read what you post?
You are making a fool out of yourself!!

Yeah because there is no dirt on Obama lol. There is more on him then any candidate in history.

The sad thing is single-minded reps will stand as one no matter what now that they have to face a black candidate. Will dems do the same?

Yeah because there is no dirt on Obama lol. There is more on him then any candidate in history.
???
Huh?
More dirt than any candidate in history?
Methinks you're being a tad dramatic. List it, if you can.

Yep, that “budget surplus” and “bustling economy” was so great that, his successor VP Al Gore lost to the man who is the Oval Office today.
But, if giving a bustling economy excuses adulterous affairs by politicians, then we should hear all this bleating (unsubstantiated, I might add) about Palin.

His lies and exaggeration of his role as an "community organizer"
Ties to Ayers and other terrorist groups. Which to me cannot be topped when it comes to "dirt"
But I will continue on to make my point.
His church which promotes hate against whites and America.
Back door real estate deals.
Voting present over a 130 times not wanting to take a stand on issues.
143 days of total exp.
Forged birth certificate.
Those are the few that are mainly in the public view.
Also have you read his book? I am in the process of it. He himself gives more dirt then you could imagine.
Billionaire Businessman, founder of BET (Black Entertainment Television) and owner of the NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats Bob Johnson says Geraldine Ferraro was right that Obama is only where he is because he’s black.

How about Joe Biden. What a freaking ahole. The guy votes to raise taxes everytime he can,but it turns out he gives one tenth of one percent of his money to charity.Typical left wing lib.Let everyone else care for the poor,I will continue to live like a king and give nothing.Add that to his lies about a drunk driver killing his wife[the guy was proven to NOT be drunk]and his plagerism and you have the dumbest man in the senate.

Biden has a net worth of $150,000.
how much *should* he be giving to charity?
He didn't cheat on his wife with a rich woman, like Mccain did.
He didn't have his spouse work for big Oil, as Palin did.
I guess he just doesn't have their kind of character, huh?
-
Mccain donated $64,695 last year?
He and his wife are worth over $120 million.
Kinda shits on your argument, doesn't it?

Let me ask you this, where the fuck were you whewn John Kerry married a millionaire?Where were you?You were dead ass silent. At least McCains wife looks like something, ever see Theresa Hines?A mutt. And are we going to talk about cheating after Bill Clinton?Come on,man. The freaking guy gave 300 dollars to charity,300 dollars.Thats a freaking disgrace.

Thats a hell of a lot more then Biden gave isnt it?By the way,I posted that the interview that Palin did was edited, and its now been proven it was.Ready to admit you were wrong? Also,Krouthammer[sp]just wrote an article on how Charlie Gibson was wrong about the Bush doctrine.Considering he is the guy that coined the phrase, are you still clinging to your position that she was wrong?Krouthammer said she was more right then Gibson. So YOU were wrong about that as well.Care to try and defend Bidens "drunk driving story"?

OK ::)
Senator Biden serves on two major committees: the Foreign Relations Committee and the Judiciary Committee. Senator Biden is currently the Chairman of both the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Drugs. In addition, he is the Chairman of the Senate Caucus on International Narcotics Control, and a member of the International Anti-Piracy Caucus, the Senate Anti-Meth Caucus and the Congressional Fire Services Caucus.
To someone like you, senator Norm Coleman is probably a genius. LOL
Thats a hell of a lot more then Biden gave isnt it?
Of course it is, McCain owns seven (or more) houses and is worth $120million, dummy. ::)
-
One more thing. The Bidens earned more then 300,000 last year. How can his net worth be 150,000?

Everything you named there are things that take away our liberty, except foreign affairs. Its Joe Biden that made steroids illegal, its his fault that the war on drugs goes on and on and on,wasting tax money.THe guy is the enemy of the people of this country.Everything he does is to strip us of our personal rights.

If you are going to generalize, do the same for both parties. Thank you.

Not only that but these idiots keep harping that electing Obama would be a "change" for the better. Change. That is their key word. Yet, Obama went out and chose Biden as his running mate. A long time politician that never changed anything or was ever a catalyst for change. He went on about his business like every other politician in Washington D.C. So much for that.
I noticed that no one else is addressing the edited Palin interview. Interesting.

No,you see the people that vote for democrats love to throw out a bunch of crap hoping it will stick. Then ,when it doesnt, they go on to the next thing.I was called all kinds of names when I said it was edited, turns out,it was.Now they go to the next thing.
Palins baby wasnt hers, proven wrong,go to the next thing.Palin was for book burning, proven wrong,go to the next thing.McCain doesnt know how to email, proven that he cant because of wounds and injuries he suffered,go on to the next thing.Thats the game they play. Not one guy can defend Biden claiming a drunk driver killed his wife. Its a lie.
Lastly,heres an article on charity.

Yes,your right.Making up stories about Palins baby is not hers is a concrete good ,well thought out argument.Saying she doesn't know what the Bush doctrine is,when ,in fact, its dumb ass Charlie Gibson who got it wrong.Attacking McCains military experience is a good argument and saying Obama is a community organiser "like Jesus" is also a good one.
Any white man that would vote for a guy who says in his book that he started to resent his mother because she was white,is a self hating jack ass with zero pride.Any white man that would vote for a man that sat in a pew of a church and listened to "hate whitey" rhetoric for twenty years is a disgrace.Any white man that would vote for a man that was a member of a church that gave awards to Louis Farrakhan is a disgrace.
-
Okay, before we go any further-
Can someone please define what is "acceptable" donation?
And what did Palin donate last year?

Just another hypochrist

First I never claimed anyone from either party is clean.
And like I said his ties to terrorism, racism and anti American stances. To me outwieghs anything you could come up with against MCcain, Paln, or clinton.
-
Obamo is so for change then why doesnt he ever take a stance?
If he gets into office and has to make a major decision on Iran is he gonna vote present??
-
"This pick is going to blow up in the face of McCain, but he'll probably still win because Americans want a white man in the White House"
This is a bullshit exaggeration in why McCain could win. Many people just don't like the idea of bigger government and more government control. Many people don't think Barack has enough real experience and substance to be the #1 leader of the nation. Those are the biggest reasons.
There are a small % of ignorant racist assholes that won't vote for a minority but thats not the reason he may not win. There are also tons of minorities and white liberals that are voting for Obama because he is a minority. I would argue that far more people are voting for Obama because he is black than people voting against him for that reason. Over 90% of blacks polled in the primaries voted for Obama...those were democrats alone!
-
I would argue that far more people are voting for Obama because he is black than people voting against him for that reason. Over 90% of blacks polled in the primaries voted for Obama...those were democrats alone!
Interesting argument. I just wonder how come Allen Keyes never acquired that level of black support in his many presidential runs, since blacks just vote black? How come John Kerry also garnered roughly 90% of the black vote in 2004 if blacks only vote for black candidates?
There are polls stating a sizable percentage of whites who will not vote for Obama solely based on race. And these are just the individuals audacious enough to make that statement to a pollster. LOL On the other hand, blacks have a pretty long history of voting for white candidates for president. ::)
-
Benny, you can see it in the democratic primary. 90+% of black voters voted for Obama. This is one of the reasons Hillary didn't get the nomination. The Clintons had the support of a great # of black voters but when the numbers were stacked this high against her, it cost her the nomination. I also believe young voters made a real difference.
I stand by my statement that a lot of minorities are voting for Obama because he is a minority. Its not right, but I can see why. I read a large study that said black Americans harbor more racial prejudice than any other race and it wasn't black vs white, it was a sampling of black American's attitude toward multiple ethnicities. I believe the black Americans sampled felt most negative about Hispanics actually. I can't remember the study but it seemed to be very credible. Now, I can understand why...to some degree...but it is still a fact.
I hate all racism, but the original charge holds little weight. Thats why I posted to give another view.
-

Easy, because Keys was a conservative. You are not allowed to be a black conservative or a black republican.Just like with Palin, you cant be a career woman and a mother and be pro life. The left has people fitted in certain boxes and any attempt to deviate from that is forbidden.
-
First I never claimed anyone from either party is clean.
And like I said his ties to terrorism, racism and anti American stances. To me outwieghs anything you could come up with against MCcain, Paln, or clinton.
Do you ever stop and listen to yourself? You really should once in a while and hear the moron everybody else is hearing.
-

So it isn't about race as much as it is about party affiliation? ??? You're "not allowed to be a black republican?" LOL Somebody forgot to tell Condoleeza Rice, Colin Powell, Allen Keyes, Clarence Thomas, or the 10% of blacks that voted for George Bush in the last election. Help me to understand why Rev. Al Sharpton or Carol Mosley Braun did not garner the support that Barack Obama receives if it is about party affiliation...or race...or something. :-\
Understanding your position on the voting process of blacks is becoming confusing. Am I conversing with Dr. Cornell West under a pseudonym? Your interpretation of the thought process of black voters is staggering and must be the result of years of social analysis. ::)
-
The only thing i fear is what pollsters call the "Bubba" vote. The bubba vote our people who are polled on the phone, and when asked if they will vote for a black president, they just say yes, or i don't know. The bubba vote or "racist" vote is going to determine this elections out come. And right now if Obama can't pull something big off in the next 5 weeks, or McSame makes a huge gaffe, or Palin ends up being guilty in this investigation. McSame will win the nomination, and this will make American basically look retarded around the world. Obama beats McSame 80% to 12% in world wide Gallup polls. People around the world hate McSame, and world leaders want to work with Obama. The fact that Americans have been through the worst 8 Years of their lives, yet they're ready once again to basically put a bush clone back into the white house baffles me.
-

Wow,hey tell me ,how are the three black republicans treated by the black media? If I recall Powell has been labeled a sellout,Rice has been called George Bush's' house guy and do I even have to go into Thomas' treatment? Are you kidding me?These three have been vilified by the black media and the black population in general. So,your post makes no sense there.
Carol Mosley Brawn was convicted of being a thief if memory serves me right and Al Sharpton got a HUGE amount of the black vote in the primaries. In fact,he won the majority of districts with large black populations. However,to compare Obama to a guy that once made up a story about Tawanna Brawley being raped by a gang of men that include assistant district attorney Pagonis, and a man that once called greeks "homos",isn't really fair.
Blacks will vote democrat at a rate of over 90% year in and year out.Thats a STATISTICAL FACT.LOOK IT UP!If a black dares and ventures outside the parameters of what the Jesse Jacksons and Al Sharptons define as black, they are crucified.
-
Methinks people may put their racism away and quietly vote obama, if they're broke as hell.
