Post by: Pollux on September 19, 2008, 05:11:17 PM
Wag Bennett, the man who supported Arnold during the early years and introduced him to the theme of Exodus (Arnold's MAIN choice of posing music during his bodybuilding career), passed away October 17th.  :(

Wag Bennett, a major figure in British bodybuilding for over 50 years, London gym owner and friend/mentor of Arnold, passed away Wednesday Sep 17 after a long illness. His wife Dianne and children were with him. May he rest in peace.

oops. My bad. I meant September 17, 2008. Nonetheless, it's too bad. I wonder if Arnold will make any acknowledgement of Wag's passing.

I don't think so. Hell, maybe they did, I don't know. But I do know that that theme is associated with Arnold.

Serge Nubret has used it before. Great piece of music. I'd imagine Wag was a fountain of knowledge regarding BBing, if his choice of music for Arnold is anything to go by.

Didn't he also help Arnold with his posing?

Yes, he did. He helped Arnold to pose more "gracefully", if you will.

Haha a closet homo if there ever was one.  Is this the same guy that let Arnold sleep in his bed?  Or was that "another guy".

Yup. They say bad things come in three. Well, Reg Park, Dot Kawashima, and now Wag Bennett all bit the dust within a year.  :(
