First of all the show was really small, only like 25 male competitors, in ALL classes including master, juniors and open.
I did the mens open, with a whopping 3 competitors. With myself the only one who was in contest type condition.
Went through the morning prejudging in about 2 minutes lol, it went so quick, i was shocked, i knew i had it because the two guys standing next to me didnt even belong on a bodybuilding stage.
So the posing round ends and they bring all 3 of us out. And my name is announced in SECOND PLACE!!!!!!!!! I think some in the crowd actually boo'd haha, and the guy who won looked suprised.
So a judge runs me down and tells me I had better shape, symmetry, presentation, conditioning, was tighter, but the other guy had "more muscle" ( he also had 15lbs more fat ). So thats why he won. He was also standing on tree limbs for legs and had a spare tire.
So i guess that means i must have really looked like shit or something because the guy who won did.
Im using this as motivation. Im going to eat some good food for the next couple of days, since i have been dieting since MAY!!!!!! But come Tuesday im going to hit it harder than i ever have before.
Shit, Im going to have to hold myself back from going to the gym tomorrow lol, im really THAT motivated!!!!
All in all the dieting and transformation I made was quite amazing, ill have to post some before and afters. But the show part was complete and utter bullshit. How 3 people (judges) can bring me down after 4 months of hard work, that shouldnt happen! And i wont let it happen again !!!

Soooooooooooooo, after the show.
I went out and got some pizza and breadsticks then went home and ate a quater of a pumpkin pie with some whip cream on it! I only ate til i was full ( a disgusted principle ) and am now veinier than a pornstars cock ahaha! That pumpkin pie treated me quite well lol.
Tomorrow my girlfriend is cooking 3 big meals for me ;D ;D, So ill be eating Adonis principle style haha. Ive been waiting for some good homecooked "non bodybuilding" food since may now, so saying im excited would be an undstatement ;D

yea, what sux even more is what someone thought of how I looked, to have someone who looked they way they did place ahead of me. :-\
but your totally right about the following through part. Starting and finishing that diet was so tough lol. Ive been saying "im going to compete" since i was a teenager, and it took me about 7 years ( im 25 ) to actually get the balls to dedicate myself to do it. So when I look back on it, I did something I always wanted to do. Which is something ALOT of people cant say.

very true, im extremely hungry now. For pancakes, french toast, cornbread ( im a brotha ! ), homemade desserts, and cheesecake!!
But in all seriousness, i had to hold myself from going to the gym today, im going to not go today, but tomorrow morning, ill be right back at it again!

I have never done that, but in 2005 I got into shape for a competitors page in a BB magazine.
I never won but just getting my picture on the page was one of the proudest moments of my lfe.

haha never really thought about it! But your totally right haha. Im such a HAM lol.
And bro, stop choking, get on a god damn diet, you'll be amazed how awesome it feels to challenge yourself and transform your body. Its not about stepping onstage at all, that was actually the least rewarding part. The completion of the transformation is what ill always remember.
And I can honestly say, dieting for as long as I did was one of the hardest things ive ever done, and i have a great deal of respect for anyone else whose done it.

Congrads bro, if it was a competition here in Ontario you would have won, the judges here reward conditioning over size, as well they should, but placing means little in comparison to the experience you got while dietig and competing for the first time. Hope you stick to it.

you were truly unlucky not to pick up the win..most natural shows these days reward conditioning over size. This wasn't the same in the early nineties - where size won over most everything.

I agree with alex, condition more than often wins out at natty shows, but whateva... you did what you set out to do, so I hope you have enjoyed some good eats! Well deserved! 8)

haha, i have yet to put them up on my computer.
Ive just had to spend some time with my family, since ive neglected them since about may now. So we just spent the day together, shopping, going to the park, and spending time together. We did some cooking too, made a batch of oatmeal raisin cookies that were too die for lol.
Ill get some up soon though.

WELCOME TO BODYBUILDING!!!! LOL, Exact same thing happened to me at my first show. I was beat by a guy who was about 5 inches shorts and had the same bf i had in the off season. Thats why this year for the show i purposely came in softer and didn't try as hard. It will be a long long long time before i cut that hard again. I might have to do it if i go do collegiates but for a small show local show you should just enter for fun. Its not worth the effort unless you know you have the size to actually be competitive for the shows overall.

didnt respond too bad to be honest, had some gas lol, but thats to be expected after not really eating carbs for four months.
But mostly its all water that ive retained. nothing too bad, but my face is puffy, and my hands are a bit swollen. Its crazy though, I went to the gym and had the best pump ive ever had. It actually hurt.

Just some pizza and breadsticks! thats it, i havent gone too crazy after the contest.
This is what ive ate.
I went and got pizza after the show.
Came home had some pumpkin pie with whip cream on top.
Yesterday I had this
Woke up early had a protein shake
Pancake and eggs
Chicken and cornbread with oatmeal raisin cookies for dessert
Homemade tamales with black beans and rice with 2 pieces of cheesecake for dessert
Protein shake w/peanut butter before bed.
Today
Oatmeal with raisin, banana, pineapple with 4 whole eggs
PWO drink with waxy maize and protein
Can of tuna on a low carb wrap with oatmeal raisin cookies with whip cream on top.
So i havent gone TOO crazy, but mostly the food i was craving is what ive been eating, cheesecake, cookies, pumpkin pie, thats it.........I still need to eat some donuts, oreos and hawaiian bbq, because ive wanted both of those lol.
Thats it.

I enjoyed food sunday and monday( had some pie and cheesecake ) , then yesterday i cleaned it up pretty nicely, My goal is to stay lean ( where I can see a hint of abs all year long ) and put on some quality muscle ( as much as I freakin can ) , so im taking advantage of this rebound, by eating a lot of good healthy food, and not getting fat.

im only up about 15 lbs, and can still see my six pack :)
And yea ive heard of guys putting on that much weight too, but i think its idiotic, and it a waste of all of your hard work dieting down.

I did two this year and put on 21 lbs in three days after the first on and I think 23 after the second one. I will say that if I compete again I won't be doing that. It's nice to feel like you are big again but that's about the only positive thing I can think of. Someone mentioned the pumps that you get after competing and how they were painful. Crazy isn't it!! I could have sworn that my skin was going to explode.

200 with abs!!!??? You better start gettin on them heavy multi-joint movements!
Btw, whenever you go grocery shopping at the super-market, do you find yourself looking at the nutrional labels more now that you are getting into competitive bodybuilding?

thanx alot bro, i really am proud of what i accomplished. I dieted harder than anyone ive ever known and didnt cheat once. After doing that, i seriously know i can do anything.
Now the goal is to pack on about 20lbs of muscle! :) And i mean lean tissue ;

Dude and believe this! the goal is at the minimum of 20lbs of muscle before i even think about steping on stage again. So im going to stay lean, and gradually put on muscle..........its a marathon not a sprint :)

I know dude i cant wait either lol ( how ill look with mass ).
And im about 85% black so maybe that 15% is where i get the not totally shitty calves from haha. But u wanna know something strange, since the show, my calves are the bodypart that has grown the most. I wish it was my chest, but we cant have it all lol.

Glen's got the frame to pack on some mass for sure. Seems like the desire is there as well, which is most important. I'd like to see him come in with another 20 to 30 lbs, I think a heavier weight class would suit him better.

believe me bro for sure, i wouldnt even think about stepping onstage again without ATLEAST another 20lbs of hard earned muscle.......so it'll be another few years before that happens. But there is room there to grow, so ill get it done :)
