Cashews?:
Brazil Nuts?:

Anyone an expert here?

I don't know about health properties.
If I ever eat nuts for a bodybuilding related reason(body composition), I eat macadamiun nuts. Almost pure monounsaturated fat, zero poly's, and I think 1 gram saturated per 15(?) grams mono.
The only Poly's I like for bodybuilding are o3 (EPA/DHA only) and o6 (GLA only), and I try to keep saturated's to ZERO.
However for taste alone I love cashew's and Brasil nuts. Almonds are good too, but I like those better flavored. Like wasabi & soy sauce almonds from blue diamond. MMMMMM. :D

Walnuts are touted as the ones which bring the most health benefits...to my knowledge...
Everyone, chime in...

I know Milos was touting Almonds in a FLEX once long time ago.
Good: they have good oils in them,
Bad: they are addictive, I know where to get them cheap and I binge, once started I cant stop till every last one is finished no matter how big the bag ;D
You guys forgot Pistachios and Macadamina nuts

Can't go wrong with a good mix.

Can't go wrong with a good mix.
At the moment I am using a mix as my primary 'good' fat source; cashews, hazel nuts, brazil nuts, almonds, walnuts....problem is that nuts are so calorie dense and it's hard to just stick to a handful.... :-\

Use oils instead. That gets rid of the urge to over-consume. Macadamiun nut oil & Extra virgin olive oil are two good sources of fat.

Sometimes I use them as my evening snack along with some grapes. Just eating a small handful, though.

Just eating a small handful, though.
For most I think that is impossible :)

Thanks Jebus.
You are welcome, Deicide!

I alternate between 10g sliced almonds in my morning oat meal one day, and 10g chopped walnuts the next day.

"Epidemiologic studies show that those who eat the most nuts also tend to have the lowest body mass indexes (Nurses' Health Study, Adventists Health Study, Physicians' Follow-up Study). This finding has led to several studies about nuts and more specifically almonds and weight loss and maintenance. A recent study found that the cell walls of the almond act as a physical barrier to the absorption of fat in the intestines. The fat is then excreted from the body thereby failing to contribute calories (Ren et al., 2001). This has led some to question whether all of the calories in almonds as determined by the bomb calorimeter are actually absorbed by the human body. Furthermore, there is evidence that the addition of almonds to a diet in place of calories from other food sources does not cause an increase in body weight (Wien, in press).
These findings offer a glimpse into how almonds may actually work in the body to either prevent weight gain or aid in weight maintenance or loss."

Hmmm. This is interesting/fishy.

I'm stealing them from my coworker, so I can only take a small handfull, otherwise he would recognize. ;D
He knows about it of course ... just don't want to appear to greedy. :)

It works!
At some point in your life you will switch to them anyway.
I would do it even if they wouldn't work 100%.
I'm done with horse grub.

I buy my coworkers cookies and sweets as compensation for my stealing.
This way I stay lean and handsome while they get fat and ugly.
