Yes, go to the training/injury board and talk to the Oracles over there.

On function scale of 1-10 extensions are a 2 at best. I promise when my gym opens one thing I won't have is a leg extention.

I wouldnt go to a gym that didnt have leg extension. I would imagine theres lots of bb'ers that feel the same way.

Leg extensions did plenty for me, but I've known guys that hate em.   Like barbell curls for me....only thing it stimulates is wrist pain, but others I know swear by them.

squats load up the back too much.  go see an orthopedist to make sure you are not fucked up bad.  wait for the pain to stop, then try single leg squats (also known as pistols) they hit the legs without destroying the lower back like regular squats.

Leg extensions got MOS to be 300 pounds. Without them he would be a twink.

It's not going to be for bodybuilding or not even necessarily for fitness. Basically for athletes.

There is some definite truth here.

Shooting pain is never good. Stop doing squats and see your doctor.

You've got a pinched nerve. Depending on where the shooting pain is on your right side we can localize it to a specific region of your vertebral column and spinal cord. It doesn't sound like anything too serious since you only have the pain when squatting. If you had a serious bulging or ruptured disk you'd be having pain all the time. Your doc will likely order a CT or MR and probably put you in some physical therapy with good outcome. Hope this helps.

Sounds like your spotting partner needs to get behind you w/ his pants on instead of around his ankles.

First, go see a doctor. Run tests. I used to get lower back pains after squatting also. Stretching helped me. I wasn't flexible at all and by stretching only 10 to 15 minutes/ day my back pains almost totally disappeared and at the same time my squats went deeper. Front squats are a pretty good alternative if done with good form.

X-rays, diagnosis, then resolution.

Exercising anymore during this time is more than likely counter-productive.

Could be L5 S1, only took me 4 yrs to get over it, so don't worry about it.

Warm up first perhaps is a good idea I think. Today warmed up on stationary bike, then leg extensions, semi stiff dead lifts, and then I started my squats. I Always do much better when I make my leg workouts like that.

Shhoting pain is bad. Stop

Does it travel down your leg? Sciatica perhaps?
