Title: 61 Nobel Laureates in Science Endorse Obama- MOST EVER OF ANY PRESIDENT!!!!
Post by: The True Adonis on September 28, 2008, 07:36:49 PM
61 Nobel Laureates in Science Endorse Obama
A group of 61 Nobel Laureates have gotten together to endorse Barack Obama for President. Their letter and the signatories are below. This is the largest number of Nobel Laureates to ever endorse a candidate for office, more than endorsed either Gore or Kerry. (Kerry had 48 total.) That is a remarkable statement. Here is the link to the original letter of endorsement.

An Open Letter to the American People

This year’s presidential election is among the most significant in our nation’s history. The country urgently needs a visionary leader who can ensure the future of our traditional strengths in science and technology and who can harness those strengths to address many of our greatest problems: energy, disease, climate change, security, and economic competitiveness.

We are convinced that Senator Barack Obama is such a leader, and we urge you to join us in supporting him.

During the administration of George W. Bush, vital parts of our country’s scientific enterprise have been damaged by stagnant or declining federal support.  The government’s scientific advisory process has been distorted by political considerations. As a result, our once dominant position in the scientific world has been shaken and our prosperity has been placed at risk. We have lost time critical for the development of new ways to provide energy, treat disease, reverse climate change, strengthen our security, and improve our economy.

We have watched Senator Obama’s approach to these issues with admiration. We especially applaud his emphasis during the campaign on the power of science and technology to enhance our nation’s competitiveness. In particular, we support the measures he plans to take – through new initiatives in education and training, expanded research funding, an unbiased process for obtaining scientific advice, and an appropriate balance of basic and applied research – to meet the nation’s and the world’s most urgent needs.

Senator Obama understands that Presidential leadership and federal investments in science and technology are crucial elements in successful governance of the world’s leading country. We hope you will join us as we work together to ensure his election in November.

I can get Mike Boyle, John Berardi, JC Santana, Mark McGuire, Dennis Rodman, Ryan Leaf, John Rocker, Jesse James, Sandra Bullock etc, etc, etc to say I'm a great trainer and it doesn't mean crap BUT the difference between Obama and me is that I have proven myself to all of these people mentioned.

Donald Trump is mulling a run for U.S. president in 2012 because he wants to show the world America is not a country 'led by fools.' (WENN.COM) Property mogul-turned-reality TV star Donald Trump is seriously considering running for U.S. president in 2012, because he wants to show the world America is not a country "led by fools."

The businessman admits there is some truth to rumours of his political aspirations and he's mulling over the idea of entering the race for the White House when current leader Barack Obama's first term in office is up in two years' time.

In an interview on Good Morning America, he says, "I am thinking about things. I'm looking at this country and what's happened in terms of respect. And the respect for this country is just not there.

"I have many people from China that I do business with; they laugh at us. They feel we're fools, and almost being led by fools. And they can't believe what they're getting away with.

"I'd love to see some positive things for this country. When people say they don't respect our country... We cannot let the rest of the world beat us up, we're like a whipping post right now."

If Trump does decide to launch a bid for the presidency, he will stay true to his current political allegiance and run as a Republican - and he insists he'd be willing to stand against former 2008 vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, should she announce her own intentions to run for office once again.

He adds, "I've seen what she's done. Do not underestimate her. I would take her on. Don't get me wrong, I like her, but I'd take her on."

But Trump will be keeping the media guessing about whether he will run for president until the summer of 2011: "I'd make a decision probably by June."

Some of the old threads are far more humerous than the old ones.

Trust me Benny - I have dozens and dozens of your old ones that will make all but perhaps Obama's butler laugh their ass off.

Congratulations, you are getbig's Biggest Loser.[/b]  ;D

Benny & Blacken...and any other lefty/socialist/progressive that wishes to take the call:

Without posting a bunch of random videos, I want you to explain in your own words, your words, why we should continue to follow the progressive model and continue to expand it. Explain to me why the Obama machine should remain in power, why the current congress should remain in power.

*Explain without videos
*Use your own words
*Use your own thoughts and ideas
*Credible references to back up your points are fine, no, what some journalist says is not credible.
*Credible references include: U.S. founding documents, books or articles written by societal accepted political and ideological thinkers...left, right, center or wherever they fall doesn't matter, as long as they're at least generally credible.
*Back up your statements with facts and where applicable, back them up with your own moral conscience.
*Do these things without bashing the other side, stand on your own two feet.

Alright, I'm waiting....

Any insults you throw are completely invalidated by the fact that you refuse to have actual debate.

If you ever really want to have a discussion, here's the link to make it easier for you to answer......
