probably...

i think the era of symmetry will be short lived, people like the freaks and sub 250lb bodybuilders just does'nt cut it..
-
IMO.......If Victor comes in at his best next year, he will blow Dex away........ wont even be close. And if Wolf can pack some more muscle on his legs he will have a very good chance at taking it next year!
-
Every Olympia is won from the back, So If Victor comes in hard as nails next year, its all over ...However I would not leave out Lou $20 dollar F(oops) I mean Ronnie $10 Coleman...If he can drop some serious weight and come in around 245 ripped to the bone, anything is possible...
-
Ronnie is getting older, its getting harder and harder each year for him to come in dry and ripped. Is he doing the '09 Olympia for sure?
-
Whatever the case may be, we can all look back and say Dexter is the 2008 Mr. Olympia. 8)
-
It would be great if someone like Dex was a multiple title winner but he will probably(and should be) one and done. Dexter is no spring chicken- late thirties?
Nothing wrong with reaching the pinnacle and then retiring! :)
-
No matter what Vic looks like...Dex will probably be 5lbs heavier and still tight as usual with the yr for one contest...so AMI will have no reason to dethrone him. Muscle-Time starts the perfect score circus again in 2010 about Heath against a better Vic. No problem...because the small, little bit more balance guy gets the O now.
Not sure Phil on a 3 - 4 yr run is anything like Mr. Lite Weight Baby. :-\
Bbing is cursed if they try to keep Phil in 5 or more years.
-
Ray, Levrone, and WHeeler must be spinning in their graves.....oh wait :-X
-
Ruhl need to come out of retirement.

Exacty...that's why Vic could be jacked. Dex has moved from 216-235 nice and slow, will be on in 2009 at 235-238. No matter how good Vic is the judges can give to the a reining MrO if he is on. Size matters here because he's the springboard to say a guy like Phil is better than Vic when both are on...because you can always say the smaller guy is more balanced and a little tighter. Hope I'm wrong.
-
I see what people are saying when they are talking about the hardness and density (overall maturity) of Dex's muscle compared to Heath's-----heath's arm's look puffy and soft compared to dexter's
-
be real, next year will include vic, branch, lee, phil, wolf, etc. his reign will be short lived.
-
probably...
That’s what some folks here were saying about Jay Cutler two years ago.
be real, next year will include vic, branch, lee, phil, wolf, etc. his reign will be short lived.
All of whom Jackson has DEFEATED before.
Dexter Jackson is Mr. Olympia, and (as they say when a football team wins the Super Bowl), they can NEVER take it away from you. For the next year, he’s the man, period.
-
well, I hope Victor Martinez recover well enough to come back next year and wipe out these midgets off the stage. We do need Big man to be Mr O.
-
You will see a totally different way of judging next year. Dexter will place second to a MASS monster. Considering the turn out to the Olympia was way down since Ronnie was king, organizers will have to retreat to what puts people in the seats. They will have to do that or just fold up the Bodybuilding shows all together. It's not what it used to be by any means. Plus, the FEDs are cracking down so hard on Steroids anyways, its going to be hard to get legitimate (non backyard brew) anywhere.
-
I can't see him win more than one or two.
-
A one time winner is fine as long as each year the guy winning is the one that deserves it.
-

Coleman won at least two Mr. Olympia in his 40s and was in his early-mid 30s, when he won his first title. Chris Dickerson was in his 40s, when he peaked in his career, placing second at the Olympia twice '80 and '81 and finally winning it all in '82. His mentor, Bill Pearl, was at his all-time best at age 41, when he knocked off 3-time Mr. Olympia, Sergio Oliva (and a host of other stars of that era) to win his 4th NABBA Mr. Universe title.
So, Jackson being in his late 30s is hardly a sign that he's peaked. Even if this is his only Olympia win, Dexter has been to the mountain top. For at least one year, he's the best in the world. And, nobody can take that from him.

Who ever thinks Dex weighs 235lbs is an idiot. Ronnie Coleman was 242 at the 2002 Mr. O! Dexter is 220 TOPS.
-
no he will beat Ronnies record by at least two wins, you have heard if first from me and on getbig.
-
Vic will never win he is a felon and its for steroids. If you don't get that yet you are helpless. ???

totaly agree mate, he's 'added' 5lb almost every contest he's done if u beleived what u read
-
I personally think the day of the franchise mr o might be over, haney to yates to coleman was non stop,it was actually pretty good seeing cutler chase coleman for 5/6 yrs he was peaking each yr and looked great and possible a few times to dethrone ronnie ,seemed like chase was over for him and he cruised a bit,he is as big as it gets but now it cost jay, cause he has to play catchup and drop ton of water to condition for finals?he should have been'' on'' both nites.its good see a change so fans don't get bored ,dex is great little man but mro always represented the big man.

One minute, people are complaining about there being too many "mass monsters" and not enough "aesthetic guys". Then Jackson wins, and all of a sudden, the Olympia's in danger of closing up shop, because there aren't enough "mass monsters".
This makes no sense.

He certainly looks to be 235. Regardless, he's Mr. Olympia, period.
One minute it was, "Dexter's too small; he'll never win the Olympia". Now that he has done so, these same folks are talking about his being a one-hit wonder.

Ray, Levrone, and WHeeler must be spinning in their graves.....oh wait :-X
I think Ray shed a tear, because, if it wasn't for him and Wheeler (Ray for the most part) who kept banging on the door and making the case that even though he is shorter, he was more complete than Dorian. It took Ray all those years to finally make people realize, that Dex was the best man (Ninja Turtle) for the Mr O.
People stated that Ray wa always complaining, but it was Ray's mouth that finally got people to listen, and wasn't talking nonsense.
Wheeler was a lighter guy, that if he won, would have brought back aesthetics to the Mr. O title. But, nobody could match Wheeler on symmetry, so he might have been a multiple O winner.
