Rich Won Nationals and the universe in 84, at age 21 and he was much bigger than the first pics.

(small mans syndrome) never thought i was big enough .............always "bulking" gotta get bigger man then ill do a show
this went on for years

Plus you gotta remember i was constantly around guys like Mike Matarazzo,Paul Demayo,matt mclaughlin.Kevin Mcgaun,Matt Kline,Steve Cantone etc etc
i honestly felt like i never ever touched a weight compared to those guys!
it was quite humbling

the majority have the oppposite of what competitive bodybuilders have tho. the average joe gym rat walks around thinking they look like mr.olympia while mr.olympia walks around thinking he looks like average joe

I think a lot of gymrats have body dysmorphic disorder. :-[
6 FT 1" or so .............always stayed around 270 280 lbs (got as high as 312 lbs before)
always comparing myself to these guys tho (so i was never "good" or "big" enough (plus working in nightclubs/afterhours clubs wasn't very Condusive to competitive bodybuilding!)

He looks like 19 years old in those pictures in the blue trunks so that was around 1982. The pictures in the gym were from '85 when he competed in the Night of the Champions and took second to Beckles.
