I lived there for a year and just moved to Austin, Tx a couple of months ago. I saw this whole thing coming with the economy and didn't want to get caught in a difficult situation. Austin is the most progressive town in Tx and very affordable.

Nah I doubt it. I'm now down in South OC so I'll be training at a damn 24hr fitness. But I'll hit it up every now and again. It's a good gym though. Lots of hardcore guys and then some real weirdos. LOL.

Yep, and as far as I know he still has the centers. He's in good shape right now, not huge but not small. We joke because I was the one beat him sometimes as teenagers.

Relentless- crzy- I moved from Texas to Ca a few yrs ago- now Im thinking of moving back to Texas because of the shitty economy- My remodeling company has taken a hit- Austin is awesome Texas is a lot more stable in general

Yes, it is. I left a good job out in LA and got into acting my last few months there. It turns out Austin has a good acting scene and I know the area very well (I've lived here before), so it wasn't too difficult of a move. I do miss the LA weather and the overall scene.
However, Austin is more affordable, laid back...and my new gym is the best in town. No music, no fancy machines, no poseurs.

L.A./Hollywood area has the best collection of cougars/MLTF in the world. Beach women from Ventura county line to Imperial beach are also included. Any race or from any nation in the world in SoCal. Asian and Russian women tend to be prime stuff as of now.

Imperial beach is just off the 5. A little below "Chula Juana". Close to the border, where you get to watch illegals walk out of (or float by) the ocean from time to time. More of a beach/surfer crowd if you know what I mean, really hanging loose. Probably best to know your way around a little before getting into hanging around there. Lot of 2-3 day party's start from there and wind up in private homes in La Jolla, La Costa and other rich peoples places.

I put a Lord's Gym on the corner of Santa Fe & Compton. Teamed up with the Salvation Army. 22,000 sq ft, with awesome weight room, basketball court, and we're adding a little recording studio for the locals to come put their tracks together. It's an Urban Sports Outreach Center. I'm out there all of the time.

I have been right here in Venice since 91. And I aint going nowhere. I just watch all of the freaks, wanna bes and has beens come and go. I bought a house 2 blocks from Golds in 1998. Venice is great. Golds is a coorperate , fag, yuppie , personal trainer, shithole these days. And it will stay that way for good.

I live in Hollywood....Train in Venice... Even though it is a corperate shit-hole these days, I wouldnt want to train anywhere else. There is still a magnetic energy that as hard as the new owners might try to squash....it wont die.

Compton is a great city when you remove all of the Knuckleheads like Snoop & ICE T. Snoop lives in Chino Hills now & ICE T lives in the Hollywood Hills. Far from 'Hardcore Gangstas'. Just a buch of idiots with a lot of money in my opinion.

I'm in La Mesa. They just closed down the only semi-hardcore gym here. Fitness world. Was complete with cracked mirrors, no A/C and roided cops....was a good place. And it had The BBQ Pit right next door.

From what I can see, all of the "hardcore" gyms are gone or going. I drive 10 miles to train at MetRx and train clients there. But according to Troy Zuccolotto, he wants to make it a more upscale gym like an Equiox.
I have plans to open a gym next year......in a non-descript warehouse. Hardcore for athletes, powerlifters and people who want to train. No commercial BS.
