chick has good genetics compared to us slobs but not compared to your colemans, jacksons, heaths.
chick has high inserting vastus laterialis muscles but he built them to the max instead of just squatting and developing upper thighs that would have been too big.
he concentrated on upper, outer pecs, side delts, outer triceps, lower lats and some other areas that made him stand out from less intelligent trainers.

you can include alot of things in the word 'genetics'. for example: as a natural chick was able to carry more muscle mass than a natural heath or dexter would ever be able to.

The physique would've developed pretty much the same even if he picked different movements. If all he did for legs was barbell squats the shape and size of the different portions of the quads would have been the same.

I disagree...
look at olympic lifters. they only squat and their quads never have the sweep that bodybuilders do... why else would a pro do 4 exercises for quads if 3 were redundant?

I don't have the energy to get in a long debate but look at Chick's quads at 15 or whatever he was at his first show. Exact same shape. He just got bigger overall.
A weight lifter will have sweep from just squats if he has the genetics for it. Many of them have nice outer quad development.

spot on dude. people here at GB think that they can make certain portions of their anatomy grow- like mid chest, and outer quads, and lower biceps and so on...they think that certain exercises place greater stress on these "parts". just shows how naive the greater community is.
pro BB are no exception. youd think that after spending 20 years living, breathing, eating BB that you'd research how the body works and ticks and use that to your advantage (edit- no need to if you take loads of drugs and whatever you do makes you grow anyway hey?)..
every once in a while someone like you posts to restore my faith in the "sport"..its not just full of morons and the blissfully ignorant.
