Bobby Lashley Joins ATT!
2008-10-09
Former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley has officially signed and joined American Top Team.
Bobby started training with us a week ago and decided this is where he needed to be to take the next step in his burgeoning MMA career. Bobby comes to us with a great background in amateur wrestling where he was a mulitple NAIA National Wrestling Champion. Of course, most people know of him because of his time spent with the pro wrestling organization WWE and ECW.
Bobby is serious about the sport of MMA and will dedicate himself to being the best he possibly can.
We look forward to working with Bobby to bring out his full potential.
Welcome to the team!!

This seems to be a bit of a pattern. First, Lesnar; then Lashley.
They get out of school as top amateur wrestlers but have little prospect to make a living. So, they become pro wrestlers. If they're talented enough, they go from the bush league companies to WWE. If they make it there, they become superstars and get $$$$$$$. But, when the road life and the beating get to be too much, they quit and start MMA fighting.

Lets not forget Kurt Angle
He's still with TNA, isn't he? I thought I saw an advertisement for a pay-per-view with Angle on it, just a few days ago.

Armed Forces Championship (2 times)
CISM World Championship Silver Medalist (2002)
Missouri Valley College National Championship (1996–1998)
NAIA National Wrestling Championship (1997, 1998)
Lashley is no joke, although I'm pretty sure Lesnar would have his way withnhim on the mat. And I'm curious to see hom much size he loses after leaving the WWE, since the UFC is tested. He may do well in DREAM, they don't test.

If he isnt juiced to the gills I'll eat my keyboard. He is a 230lb athlete when off juice.

Those came up on google, I don't think they are very current.

Lashley has officially stated that he does not wish to compete in the UFC. More than likely DREAM or another overseas org.

He won't be able to maintain his physic, just like Lesnar. Although Lesnar is doing well and still is stronger than the average MMA fighter which gives him some advantage... probably the same will happen to lashley, but i don't believe that he will go lower than 110kgs...
