Title: Anyone born on a Military Base overseas?
Post by: Busted on October 16, 2008, 06:34:11 PM
A friend of mine told me his wife was born in Japan on a military base.  He said she gets stuff in the mail from imigration to this day becasue they dont consider that "American soil"

Why is it ok for McCain to be born in Panama on a military base to be considered "born on American soil" but she isnt?

Gayer than not understanding the Panama Canal Zone used to be US territory... part of the US.  That's different than a base in say, Japan.

A "territory" is NOT our "soil".  The US Virgin Islands are "territories" but when you are born there you are not considered "American"... And the Panama "canal" is not the same thing as a MILITARY BASE

Correct, all our "territories" are our own soil speaking legally, and the American ones very much so.
