hey,
I am fairly new to working out, but I listened to a PBW episode where Milos explained his Giant sets principle and it almost sounded too good to be true. He sounded very sure that this was "THE BEST WAY" to build muscle.
I am a newbie natural trainer, and am wondering if anyone has had success with his methods. There are plenty of clips on youtube adn his style looks very intense
thanks ;)

load yourself up on drugs and it will work great, if you're natural forget about it.

The only reason people get results from this, is because its something different for your body, its a Shock routine pretty much. Thats why Johnny Jackson got such great results from it, because its such a 180 from his usual balls to the wall type training.
I dont think its better than anything else. But like any other training philosophy it'll work best if its cycled with something else, like lower volume or HIT or something during the course of the year.

no flex thats not the only reason. :) it works very very well if you do it the right way and do the right things along with it. its designed the way it is for a reason and no its not just to shock the body.

if i trained like that i'd be a buck 38.

Candi and Flex are both right though, Candi's point is that the nutrients have to be there during the workout for the method to work, that's the whole point, to flush nutrient loaded blood into the muscles and saturate it with that shit with all those giant sets basically putting nutrients into the muscle when it's needed the most but Flex is also right in that most people who switch to something different do get good gains.

thats part of the point.. theres a couple of other things you want to do along with it.... ;D
-
IMO using it here & there as a natural to "shock" your body would be fine & you'd probably see some results. However, being natural & doing it all the time...probably not the best idea.

no i understand the slin and other drugs part but i was talking about the actual workout but point taken.
-
would be a sure fire way to burn out very very quickly.
no way should a natural try this.
-
yea i forgot to mention that it also works because of milos' insulin protocol that he does pre and post workout. :)
But after awhile the gains stop, just look at the people who have trained w/mishko in the past few years. The gains are great at first, but then it stops and the guts start to distend and get nasty.

Have any of you fuckheads talking shit ever tried it for more than one workout? :D
I did it for 12-13 weeks, it definately built strength, stamina. Didn't take any measurements so I can't tell you I built muscle. But it is an awesome change and very intense.
BTW, I am natural and I feel like I saw results, so I would say it works. I would not recommend training that way every day, but for a few months it works well.

so why did you stop using it if it was so great ???

I'm guessing Chaos likes to switch protocals every so often and felt it was time to move to something else. That's the best way to train for long term success.

or perhaps he burnt out - or perhaps he realised all he was gaining was a pump and no muscle mass ::) ;D

my faclity is not really that big to accomodate giant sets, but i tried Milos training pattern for a week, the pumps is incredible, great fullness in the muscle, indeed build my stamina and mentally you urge yourself to the failure, for a natural guy one dosent have to do many excercises and rotations like Dennis wolf, or Hide ,one can cutdown the number of excercises and rotations, then too if you tend to maintain a good cycle between heavy compound movements and giant sets, results can be obtained.

Not at all, I like to switch around style of workouts every few months.

It's a great workout. Everyone should do 3 rounds of 43 exercises for chest, 75 exercises for back, 112 exercises for legs (but only 60 exercises for hamstrings) 55 exercises for biceps, 70 exercises for triceps.........see my point?
-
see my point?
You're an idiot?

Giant Sets are a great WO, also for natties.
Everyone who speaks against it hasn't even tried it.

I made some real good gains from giant sets -also a natty - however i would caution you against them for the first 12 months of training - use them to shock your muscles once you feel that you need a change from straight sets. They are very intense but excellent.
Good luck Bro
