is it just me or do alot of posters here seem to lie about these three things to make their physiques seem more impressive/get attention?
ive been on many different boards and never see such outlandish claims as on here.
like, i drink 6 gallons of olive oil a day, i eat mcdonalds and sweets all day and do no cardio but im getting really ripped, i eat 10g of protein a day,any more than that is a waste, etc.

in many old photos of you, you're very chunky/fat. so, it's clear you're not an ectomorph.
why is it now, that you eat mcdonalds and junk food all the time, do no cardio, why is it now that you're ripped? do you attribute junk food to your physique going from fat to ripped?
i don't believe you eat the way you do. i think you either:
1) say you eat the way you do and do no cardio to: make your physique seem more impressive than it is.
2) you enjoy the controversy/attention from saying you eat/train the way you do.
3) both.
if im wrong - then you have some of the most wacky upsidedown genetics on the planet, and you can admit that what works for you will not for nearly everyone on earth.

I was willfully fat. Forced eating. I wanted to deadlift 600 lbs again. I almost got there, but figured it wasn`t worth it anymore. So instead of eating thousands and thousands of calories a day, I decided to get lean and stay lean. I am no stranger to getting lean and have done so many times. So its really easy. I trust you have not been around the boards long, I have been here for years. Many can tell you.
There is no such thing as junk food by the way.

Anyone can do what I do, no matter what you look like.

i bench 290 for 9 and im a sophomore.
-
so i assume you are an ectomorph?
ok lets say 'calorie dense food' not junk food.
how many calories you take in everyday when cutting?
-
also ive been on getbig for almost 6 yrs, i didnt follow you on mayhem before you started posting here regularly.

There are no such thing either as that 3 Somatotypes. This is not scientific nor is it fitting at all.
I eat 2000-2500 calories when leaning out. The lowest I will go is 1800, but it is totally not necessary.
I don`t do any cardio, nor do I do much in the way of being too active. I do read a lot and do a lot of mental activity which does burn a lot of calories. Sounds silly, but it is true.

No it's not silly i work a lot of hours now and the more my brain works the higher my metabilism goes.
How do you split 'clean' and 'junk' food (you know what i mean). Do you mix them up in the same meals?
Do you go for a minimum protein amount with each meal or each day?

Taking it a step further, do you ever "warrior diet" using the Adonis principles? In other words, have you ever gone on a stretch where you fast during the day, and put down all 2000 kcal, or so, at one sitting? Eating whatever you want, but topping it out at a 2000 kcal planned large meal.
Just wondering aloud.
I think there's a degree of merit to it all (i.e. pairing Adonis and warrior principles). You get to pair the Adonis "eat the foods you like" principle with the additional principle of eating when you most like to eat (for some, eating breakfast is painful, and when working, eating during the workday is out of the question. For most of America, gorging at night is de rigueur. So if you can teach America to gorge at night and count the calories in that single meal, they get to eat what they want, when they want, and it's pretty easy to watch your calories for one meal. And they get to feel full at least once a day, which is satisfying).
I will go days at a time where I don`t count anything and eat a ton of food. When I see the scale go up, I simply go back to my 2000-2500 calories to lose the gained weight. It takes a LONG time to gain weight in reality.
For instance, In that picture I am about 160 lbs. Let`s say for 2 weeks I don`t really count calories and eat a lot. The scale after 2 weeks then reads, about 164 lbs in the morning.
What I will then do is go to 2000 calories, still eating what I want, but in that amount and using my principles. Usually it takes just a few days to get my weight back down to 160 or whatever. It takes longer to gain the weight than it does to take it off. Too easy.

You used the Adonis principles to get lean (and obviously to stay lean). I'm most interested in how you used them during a weight loss phase. What rate of weight loss were you able to sustain using the principles? During the weight loss phase, did you consciously count calories each day, or employ the use of cheat days?
PS: I'm using your guidelines right now. I find this way of dieting liberating. I haven't noticed any changes (positive or negative) in muscle mass (via caliper measurement), but I'm down approx. 2 pounds in the last 2 weeks. I consider that evidence (however empirical) to be motivating enough to stay on longer. I don't anticipate much in the way of muscle gain in the short term -- the most I expect from my body is 2-4 lbs/year. I'm conscious of what I eat, but I eat the foods I crave.
First, get to where you want to be looks wise by keeping note of your calories. For instance, stay at 2000 until you reach your desired level of leanness. Throwing high calorie days is useless, unless you just feel like waiting a bit longer. 2000 is plenty to keep hormone levels normal and high. Make sure you are accurate in counting calories day in and day out. It becomes easy over time, where you don`t have to write anything down. When I make my recipes, I have the calorie content for each ingredient. The good thing about Fast Food is that you can bypass all of that as the calories are figured out for you. Kind of makes it even easier if you want to include some of that.
If you adhere to 2000 calories day in and day out, you can expect to easily lose 6-10 lbs of fat easily with no cardio.
I am glad you find it liberating, as it should be! It really makes the whole process simple and enjoyable. You will begin to laugh at everyone else and how silly their approach is.

Quoted for truth!
Never been on an easier diet, and never been close to my current condition in my life.

adonis, whats the longest time you have had to wait for a drop in body weight after you stalled at 2000 cals ( or should i say what others would call stalling)
normally if i do not see a drop in weight or measurements every 2 weeks max i drop calories again - how long have you waited? and has it always dropped eventually - i find this very interesting.

I`ve never had a problem and do not have to adjust below 2000. Others may have to a bit. If it were me though, I would wait an entire month at least before dropping calories. Then if I had to drop, I would do so by 200.

i remember in the past i have stalled but didn't drop calories due to a variety of reasons. then out of the blue i noticed a large drop of 2 or 3 pounds almost over night after being stuck for weeks. I thought this was just a fluke/water weight, etc, but perhaps your theory has merit - i will wait for 4 weeks next time to se the outcome - and report back.

getting shredded aint all that difficult. just takes time.

Burning calories "mentally" seems like a very true statement that I have never read anywhere. Just seems like something from experience that holds true. My job for example requires me to be pretty physically inactive all day long, but mentally I have to be going 110% (air traffic controller). After a busy day I can be absolutely starving AND tired as hell. As for me, some of you may have seen my pics I posted on the GetBig contest subforum. I stay that lean year round. I don't count calories, just grams. I make sure to get at least 200g of solid protein (not shakes...only after my workout). I don't purposely eat low carb or low fat, but when my budget gives me the option of protein or bread I pick protein. Although if I do go on a splurge with eating I'll tone down the carb and fat intake for a few days and be right back where I was.
I bust my ass harder than anyone I know in the gym, I eat strict year round, and have never even seen AAS let alone taken it. I WISH it came easy like some other people on this board claim though...
Well, no I don't actually. There is a certain self satisfaction from knowing you have achieved a statuesque physique through sheer will power and hard ass work.
And TA I remember your physique a few years looking pretty horrible to be quite honest, but after leaning out it's pretty damn inspiring.

Is being an ATC really as stressful as they say? I have been in a control tower a few times and have seen that it is absolute madness at times. People yelling, Screens Blinking, people calling other people over and arguing over blips on a screen. How much of a toll does it take on you would you say?

You would think that there was a war going on or an impending air disaster! Is this the environment in your neck of the woods also?

It is and isn't stressful. Being trained up at a new busy location can be stressful, but after you know the local traffic the only people that stress out about doing the job are the ones that suck at it. I don't suck at it, consider myself pretty damn awesome at it, and think it is amazing fun dealing with all the complexity and fast paced thinking the job offers. Honestly, the part of the job that is stressful is the scheduling and dealing with co-workers/supervisors that are horrible. You work with crews of people, and if one of those people suck things can be bad. If everyone is spot on and knows their stuff it can be a thing of beauty. The job DOES have fragile and large egos (remind you of anything?), so when you are right and the other person is wrong it can be quite frustrating (...or deadly for aircraft).
Also, I used to not have a fear in the world of flying before ATC. Now that I know the frequency of close calls and how many incidents I've seen...not so much.
Oh, and it sounds like you were up there during a shit storm of traffic for those guys. That's pretty typical at busy locations and something I dealt with multiple times a day, every day, when I worked one of the more complex military towers the U.S. has. Also, military tower air traffic is much more complex than civilian tower air traffic. I'm currently a civilian.
