Title: Pro's with small bone structure
Post by: reppin203 on October 21, 2008, 11:33:38 PM
Pro's like Flex Wheeler, Phil Heath, etc. How strong are they really and how heavy do they train? Anybody know for real. Not a knock on them, just curious. How heavy to more aesthetic pro's really train off-season.

315 pound deadlifts with straps, some partial legpresses with more weight than they can properly handle, some cheated pulldowns and rows, and some db presses.

This in combination with ridiculous amounts of anabolics = average pro bodybuilder.

Look at the Wrists...
Big boned guys - Dorian
                       Tom Prince
                        Lee Priest

Smaller boned guys - Tony Freeman
                             Flex Wheeler
                             Serge Nubret

Just look at this comparison in terms of Wrist thickness

The first BB'er I'm thinking about is Vince Taylor. He's got a awesome wrist/upperarm ratio.

An "awesome ratio"  huh?   So, having skinny wrists is a good thing?

At 6'7" (2.00 cm) and weighing in excess of 440 lbs(200kg) (31 stone)[1], he is one of the biggest strongmen in the world. His biceps measure 24"

probably one of the first time im having no problem at all beleiving that someone has 24 inch biceps.

I don't know what constitutes small bone structure, but all of the top pros do have small joints.  All of them.

It's amusing that Tom Prince ragged on how Mike Mentzer had very small joints and wrists.  Tom boasted he had a much larger frame than MM.

Funny how things come around full circle, Tom.

I think what Boost is trying to say is that he likes his men to have small/limp wrists.

Hope this helps.

Smaller joints = aesthetic physique.

Bigger joints =  blocky physqiue.

Chaos has the big joints + fat which results in a chunky blob of turd.
