I'm picking two mods. Please nominate someone (other than yourself). There is no voting. I'll take a look at the nominees and make the picks.
Here is what I'm looking for in a mod:
*Must contribute daily with MMA related news/info
*Should help tabulate betting threads
*Hep keeping board organized (pinning relevant threads, merging redundant threads, moving unrelated threads, etc.)
*No altering of anyones posts under any circumstance.
*Immediately delete threads with porn, people's personal info & flagrant racist remarks)
*Like all board members, Mods are free to voice their opinions and trash talk fighters. However, no personal attacks on board members are allowed.
So, who should I consider?

Tough call. Would be interesting to see what the majority of the regulars of the board thinks, not just the same old empty cans naming eachother or their buddies. Both Sincity and ChuteBoxe got demodded by Ron for good reasons and fail most, if not all, the above criteria. They had their chance. At this point I think we should consider some new blood.

So was MindSpin. And everytime me and him were demodded it was because of the shit caused by Sincity - he's like a suicide bomber, he brings others with him when he blows up.

There's so many regulars on the MMA board that don't usually voice their opinion, giving the false impression that the "majority" consists of the same half dozen empty cans that rattle the most...
I'd love to hear the suggestions from Geo, danielson, Mark Kerr, onlyme, Faust, K-1, Hedgehog, 20 inch calves, Dball, Thin Lizzy, coltrane, UGMT, ornomental, BDSauce, chixlegs, BlueDevil, RancherRanger, gtbro1, KWON, Journeyman, gymrat75, Ruffneck, Logan32, MB_722, johnny1, airosol, bigbalddaddy, rico28 and the MANY others who posts here!
As for my own suggestions, there's a number of people I think should get the chance to mod, if they're up for it... Mark Kerr, Dbol, coltrane, NaturalWonder, MB_722 to name but a few... where as others, like danielson is not interested (I've asked him in the past) and americanbulldog (isn't active enough, I've asked him as well previously)

Thanks man. If it were strictly a grappling/bjj board, I'd do it. But I don't follow MMA as closely as the other two candidates. In those betting threads, I don't even know most of the guys at the bottom of the cards.

That's what causes all the bickering in the first place, quit trying to be controversial and pick mods that will make sure the board runs smoothly without conflicts in every thread.
This is the MMA board, not the V.
BTW, Bluto does add alot to this board, with the copy/paste deal and the betting thread, he can still do those things without being a mod can't he? He has been doing them anyway and the board has been going along fairly smooth without him being a mod.

He just copy/pastes the five biggest headlines from the other big MMA sites and leaves the threads to die. Yes, surely worthy of moderator. You know, Mindspin is a lot more down here than I am, and i have personally known him for years. So yes, I can just choose, and then got a ton of complaints, but since I am taking care of some other issues, especially in terms of the main board and revamping things, I trust Mindspin.

Just pick some mods Ron. There is yet another card on tonight and we still don't have a mod who will donate 5 minutes of their time to tally up the cards(plus the last 10 or so so we know who is winning).

After a lot of thought I gotta nominate Milfer for Mod. He is the only person smart enough on this board to calculate the fights and someone needs to go back like 10 cards and add them all up.

It's not that difficult, make me a mod and I'll keep track of that stuff in a locked sticky so everyone can see. But I don't think I'll go back 10+ cards, maybe just 4-5.

That's not necessary. You'll make a thread, it gets locked and then you PM a mod with the update every show. (usually just once a month)

From what I can remember Sincity offered to do it and Geo to do the calculating. So looks like you're all set.
I've been doing it for a year so maybe it's time for someone else to do it for a year. Check back with me in november 2009 and we'll see how I feel about it then. :)
