Title: Should Dexter Jackson retire?
Post by: flexingtonsteele on October 23, 2008, 04:13:27 PM
Does anyone realistically think he has a shot at winning another Mr. Olympia.

With the way Phil Heath is progressing every year, I think he's going to the Mr. O for ALTEAST the next five years ( even with the narrowest clavicles to ever find there way on a bodybuilding stage. )

great arms/legs/conditioning

BUT overall too small torso and soo narrow it really hurts my eyes, looks ridiculous, should never be a mr O in my book. The arms look like they squeese those chicken breasts inside. It destroys his simmetry. It could be the pics.
Wolf is a little easier to see. Just my opinion, nothing more.

Well at least Phil has calfs,  :P

I dont think Wolf will ever be Mr.O.

He has a tremendous physique but is missing too much.

Where phil has a narrow shoulder structure.

Dennis is missing an ENTIRE BACK, oh yea and calves, which i think are much bigger deals then phils narrow clavs.

Just my opinion though. And also phil has way more of a WOW factor than Dennis.

Phil's pecs are just terrible in every way, absolutely terrible.
And he'd weigh 200 pounds without those arms.
That said he will be Mr. Olympia either next year or the year after.
That was decided by the machine a long time ago.

X man will be the Man to watch for the 2009 season. Addition of 10-14 pounds of Muscle and a New contract with a Popular company - I see Xman being a X factor for 09

dex will get 2 under the belt like jay.  if vic "the true gift" has his stuff together next yr...phil "unbalanced gift" aint ready to beat him.  they can always give it back to the defending champ.  one thing you know is dex will be sharp...no skin folds.

vic is the best guy out there with his "A" but he is a momentum killer if he beats Phil.  He could de-rail Phil 3-4 yrs when new up and comer shows up.  it aint going to happen...ladies.

WTF??? why would he retire? He's having the best year of his career.  I'm sure he believes he can beat Heath again. I, however, do not. But, don't retire.

of course its bullshit, how many 40 yr olds do u see put on 10lbs of muscle. Especially one who has been training his whole life.

BUT!!! Toney was in absolutely amazing condition this year and if he can improve just slightly he'll do even better next year ;D

He has a lat tear???

And just being like he is, he has to be 100% to win everytime which is hard to do, or everyone else has to be off.

I just dont see him beating an improved phil heath. He can beat everyone else, just not phil.

dickerson had a bad pec tear and biceps smaller than his elbows.  but his calves were some of the best ever.

Well, realistically, it probably won't get any better than this for Dexter. Best year of his career and current Mr. Olympia. Going out with a bang means he might be remembered in 10-20 years time as a great champion, very consistant pro and someone who played the game to his advantage, but if he keeps going and places lower and lower, it will likely damage his reputation and he will finish on a note less than his best.

dexter wil never be remembered as a great champ, he will be forgotten like franco ro something. 1 hit 'wonder'

Its good to have a new Mr O, instead of these "dinasties", Haney, Yates, Coleman, Arnold before...

Makes it more interesting, and a better show.

Dex 1 more, maybe 09 or later, then Wolf, Vic, Heath, or someone out of nowhere.

Shoe-in for 2009.  With 2 O wins...he'll keep a sponsor and money coming for the next 5-6 yrs ala Ronnie.  So...why stop at his peak?  These guys dont make money like real prof athletes.  I think Vic is the wildcard in all this.  If he levels Phil at the O...then they give it to the returning champ for sure which I dont think Phil is mature enough and has to deal with his current balance issues.   Chest, shoulders and arms are completely out-of-wack.

Strength of confidence will give Dex another title....

eg. Ronnie 1998...just won, but after that, he creamed them for years

Dex to do the same....

amazing motivation can be gained from achieving your goals....
