no i mean, for the muscle itself, training wise? maybe those 'twists' with a broom or olympic bar on the shoulders? high reps, suppoosed to help define those side-of-the-ab muscles? does that work?

There's no secret for this kind of conditioning. Diet + Exercise. Don't need magic powders or any fancy stuff.

HEY! that's ME!
JIM has been helping me for years. All my successes has been directily due to him. I do train hard, use "supplements" however he is right it is ALL ABOUT THE DIET.
By the way.....I weighed 228 there, and it was for the NPC Pittsburgh 2007.

JIM if you catch this I can never thank you enough. Always there, objective, and fun to work with, plus he has a very cool wife.

WOW :o  NPC shows the competitors show the freakiest conditioning.  That skin looks like saran wrap. Just curious, what did you eat after the show?  It looks like you spent alot of time suffering to look as freaky as that.

Post by: morenmoremuscle on October 25, 2008, 12:31:41 PM
Actually I did not eat a whole lot of simple carbs, maintained the diet for a good while. So I ate greater portions of what I was eating while dieting and every now and then threw in a cheat meal. When my metabolism started slowing down, I then returned to a lower glycemic diet, with more protiens.
I did not have the pleasure of the "magic powder" from JIM. However he used ZERO diueretics on me. Kept me healthy!

how come natural bodybuilders and people in general have such a hard time getting past 8% bodyfat?
and it takes even more work to maintain it there  :o
is it true that at some point your body will not give up anymore fat and all the loss will be muscle mass?  :-\

So what was this guy's diet and cardio and drug regimen?

His diet was changing all the time. I usually changed it once a week or two. If I recall correctly he did about 90 of cardio a day max but that was because he had a time limit. I normally use only as much cardio that is needed. Diet was next to zero carb. Once a week he ate whatever he wanted. As far as drugs I will assume that you mean fat burners. They were not started till 6 weeks out. Used ECA and I think GH releasers.

could he just not eat less instead of doing cardio?

Yes I meant fat burners.  So what about calories?  If he was doing zero carbs did you have him worry about counting calories?  How many grams of fat per day?

Ok disgusted question for you. You can check out before and after pics on medfords training log for my progress. So during the holidays if I want to eat what I want whats the best fat burner. Im no bodybuilder or anything. ECA is a good one huh. I have taken lipo 6x that I like

I never really count, maybe cause I have been doing this for so long. You are correct though as I do drop calories as the show gets closer, but again I rarely ever count.

OK saw yor pics and you have done a great job!!!! Not sure what you are asking me but I think you are wanting to cheat during that holidays and want to know what fat burner to take to kind of compensate for the extra cals right? Well, if I were you I would pic out which days that you would like to cheat. Then break it down to how many meals that you are going to eat. For example, lets say you are going to cheat 4 days out of the entire holiday and lets say it's going to be maybe 6 meals. There is a possiblity that you could put on up to 10 to 15 pounds from all that cheating.

Forget the fat burners. The day before you cheat I would do a juice fast. Then on yor cheat day eat whatever you like, but small portions of each food.  There is no reason to stuff yourself sick. Eat till you are full by all means but not sick, know what I mean?  ;D Now instead of 10 to 15 pounds you may only put on say 5 or none at all.

omg no way would I cheat 4 days..maybe 2 but at least on turkey day. I will still go to gym everyday like I have been. I would only eat one cheat meal on one day and just go for it on turkey day. I wont go overboard to say the least. but yea looking for best fat burner should I just stay with the lipo 6x

Lipo 6 is fine but never worry about one cheat day.

I have to worry, if not then my hard work for the past nine months was for nothing (if that makes sense) you gotta understand I have lost 52 percent body weight and 134 pounds.

If you cheat every so often you actually speed up your metabolism. I've worked with plenty obese people. One girl I worked with lost over 100 pounds. Do your heart a favor and just enjoy your cheat day without guilt then get back on your diet. Keep up the good work.

10 to 15 pounds in 4 days  ???
is this cuz the body's metabolism is absolutely shut down or because the guy is eating a fridge load of food ...per day?  :o LOL

whoa whoa 10 to 15 pounds in 4 days  ???
is this cuz the body's metabolism is absolutely shut down or what?  :o LOL
well if there is 3500 calories in one pound of body fat that means there is 52,500 calories in 15 lbs of body fat and if a persons bmr is 2000 cals per day then over a period of four days you would need an average caloric suprplus of 11,125 calories.  so its "possible" to gain 15 lbs of fat in four days, but not likely. if you gain 15lbs in four days, most likely its ALOT of water, and alot of fat too.

It's not impossible, I have eaten 15,000 calories many days
it's just shocking when you see 10 to 15 pounds in 4 days

the same 10 to 15 pounds that the guy needed to drop for a contest
took him 16 weeks to get down (we know what he had to eat  :-X ) to that bodyfat level and ruins it in 4 days LOL
it goes to show you that gaining fat is alot easier than losing it

DAMN! three entire jars of peanut butter?
that's sick, especially how that's all fat  :-X , yeah somedays I have just shoved the food down
mostly sweets, cookies, icecream, couple of burgers, and ALOT of food all together
it's actually not as nice as people think
eating 15,000 calories sounds like a joy but by the end of the day, you feel like dying
the insulin levels are so high that your head is spinning, your heart is pounding like crazy and your stomach hurts   :-\

sometimes I just stayed awake all night sitting behind my computer giving time for the food to digest
like people say all those calories "straight to my hips"  ;D
