The other guy THROWS his body to the side and Cyplenkov doesnt even move ;D
-
This thread has potential.
-
seriously, what a fucking BEAST ;D
-
All genetics.

I dunno, I seen Keith Jones armwrestle in Fort Worth around '87 or '88 he put down a guy just like he did.
On the national armwrestling circuit Keith was VERY underrated.

I think I read somewhere that he had about 80 hours of material, that's crazy.

LMAO according to the video the guy has 57cm = 22+inch forearms. ;D
-
HUGE hands. :o
-
lol at 2:50
Haha! The other guys about to bust a blood vessel and he's just smiling at him!
-
I don't know, I think even Keith would have to admit that this kid would have him beat. Not to mention that if that wicked soundtrack is playing while Keith and this kid went at it, the odds would be against Keith..
"1"
-
I think his secret is that he crushes the hand of his opponent with his huge paw first.
-

It's a big arm, but do you have ANY idea how big 22 inches is for a forearm?
Just impossible, Ronnie's upper arms were 22 and this guy's claiming he has 22 inch forearms? :-\

Im with you on this Tri- There is a youtube vid of Magnus Samuelson training with Sven Karlson. Karlson wraps a tape measure around his right arm and measures it at 60cm. That being said Cyplenkov has massive hands and forearms- just fricken crazy!!
-
Can't tell by just looking at the guy. But at my strongest I was pretty good. Hard to say but that guy is definitely a beast. And having 22" forearms is about impossible. Cleve Dean who was about 75% fat and weighed 660 at the Over The Top World Championships had 19" forearms and 28" biceps. you could put a quarter through his ring.
-
Keith looking like a massive, determined beast there :o

hahaha, bullshit, no one on earth has 22 inch forearms, 20-21 inch upper arms and probably 17 and a half to 18 inch forearms is more realistic and that is still UNGODLY massive.

you can tell in that first pic of Keith that he is a damn machine and a monster, most men would get their arm broken by him.
-
The dude must be on alot of HGH... Either that or he has some kind of mutation or tumour on his pituitary gland causing him to produce alot more HGH than the normal human being but this is pretty rare...
-

I bet his watch had to be tailored.

Actually that first pic I did break that guys arm. He had broken the guy who he armwrestled just before me and stood over him laughing. He was from Texas and had alot of people there routing for him. He was an old timer with alot of experience. I also broke Bruce Wey's arm at the 83' Nationals in San Diego. Bruce was the guy in Over the Top who drank the motor oil.
-

No I had the Seiko 300m at that time with the expandable rubber band
-

Haha, you still would have to get it over the hand, that must have been a struggle every day! :D
-

my wrist is 8 1/2 and i know a lot of watches are tight on me so i can't even imagine Keith trying to get a watch that fits.
-
Haha, you still would have to get it over the hand, that must have been a struggle every day! :D
It had a buckle not one solid band.
-
Armwrestling is a moronic sport imo. People gets their arm broken all the time.. I would only do it if a was a freak heads and shoulders above the rest like Cyplenkov. Otherwise wouldnt risk it..
-
That watch would fall right off of me, my fist is 8 1/2. :-[
Anyways, anymore pics of your armwrestling competitions Keith?

My wrists are actually 8.5" not 9.5". I have quite a few more but not in my computer and not here but in storage in Hawaii. I need to get them scanned someday. Here a few more

Keith, did you know or do you remember Dan Mason,Guy Lasorsa, and Barry Krimski...........all 3 were World Armwrestling Champions who trained in the same gym I did back in the day?
-
Keith, was rickson Gracie strong?
-
Onlyme was a strong guy, but I think the fellow in the video would beat him. The guy just looks like he was born to arm wrestle. Keith, you never answered, what do you think?

Impressive if this is true!
-
ONLYME is a fucking monster. You can tell by looking at his wrists that he would snap a normal mans arm like a twig more often than not. I would love to see some of the beasts on this site stare down Keith if he was healthy. Haha, it would be like staring down a fucking rhino.
-
this thread is awesome
it has pictures of onlyme and various other people from the 80's and stories with celebrities in them

yes there used to be lots of threads like this where only me would post pics of him and any celebrity you can think of from the 80's, and he would tell awesome stories.
the ones about Kaz were the best.
Onlyme could you beat john brzenk?

No I really only knew west coast guys and really only in my weight class. I didn't socialize with the guys much. When I needed money I competed.
keith I'm gonna be a dick and ask
are you at McDonalds there? ;D
Yes I was doing an appearance there in conjuntion with Toys R Us and McDonalds. And yes I got free food. But I also got free food at Hooters

I didn't think anyone could beat me when I was at my strongest. And a few people would agree. But, in armwrestling anyone can beat anyone at anytime. I was not the fastest but I was pretty strong. That guy looks unreal but a young John Brezenk at 190 lbs would have destroyed that guy with no doubts.

I only faced John at the first Over the Top qualifier in Denver. I beat him. But I later found out that he purposely lost every event during that tour. 1st place paid $1,000 and you got qualified for the Worlds in Vegas. 2nd place got $500 only. He took 2nd place in 3 different weight classes in every event but the last one. He took 1st in all 3 classes. I have a feeling he through the match. He was absolutely the best in history of armwrestling.

what are the main muscles involved in arm wrestling?
did you do any type of special training for it?

hammers hammers hammers and then more hammers verrrrrrrrry heavy. Also just alot of heavy curls. I did alot of heavy pushing movements too (bench, shoulders, and tri's). And I only did DB wrist curls with my right hand very heavy. I also did weighted hangs for grip strength. I also did heavy lat pull downs and heavy DB flyes. Anythign to keep my body tight. I also had a gripper in my car that I always used
-
Fuck, that's a big arm in the last pic. :o
-
Cyplenkov= biggest muscle gorilla hands.
This guy is probably a result of Tchernobyl.
-
He probably has a huge advantage just because of those bear paws.
-
Why haven't they made some sort of arm apparatus for competition that you put your arm in that is the only thing that can be used...Something that will eliminate all technique and truly get to who has the strongest pulling arm...Some lightweight carbon fiber arm apparatus etc..
-

Why would they do that. Technique is something that evens the playing field. In every sport there is some sort of technique that separates the competition. What gives the smaller weaker opponent a chance to beat a bigger stronger guy is why there is technique.
-
I learned it was all technique from this skinny dude. You'd think he would fall down if the wind blew but he kicked everyones ass in arm wrestling. He taught me and I was instantly kicking ass as well but only against people who only depended on strength. Never could beat him though.. He won a shit load of money off of the "Big Guys" at parties.

They say your heart is supposed to be the size of your fist. If this is true, Denis is on borrowed time. :-\

How's your waist size these days bro?
Still getting down in weight I hope?
-

the dude he's training with there Alexey Voevoda seems like an impressive arm wrestler aswell. Less massive than Cyplenkov, but with better technique.
youtube montage of him
-
strong hands/forarms and technique seems to be key.
-
damn these guys are not exactly small
voevoda 121kg
cyplenko 140kg
:o
-

It is down also but defintiely not where I want it. I am working on it. Seems everywhere else is losing first. I just want my ass and gut down. I just feel alot better now. I had a bit of an episode with my leg a couple weeks ago but it is good now. Starting to do crunches. I need to strengthen my abs back up. Lower back can't take the weight.

I was with Keith announcing various events on the military bases and one such event was somewhat funny enough to tell here.
During the "half time" in one of the military bodybuilding contests keith took the stage and invited anyone in the audiance to come up and beat him in an "arm bending" contest and if he lost to anyone that winner would walk out of the event a thousand dollars richer.
About 20 of the bigger guys in the audience hopped out of their chairs and jumped in line to accept that challenge.
Keith handed me the mic and asked the first "volunteer" to step up and take the money by beating him.
While the first volunteer broke a sweat trying his best to bend Keith's arm, Keith addressed the audiance explaining to one and all just what the volunteer was doing right and also exactly what he was doing wrong and upon completing that explanation he simply pressed the guys wrist to the table.
keith would shake his hand and thank him for doing his best and then invite the next guy up on stage.
Within ten minutes about 20 of the biggest guys on that base broke a sweat and left much more humble than when they entered.
And no one won that one-thousand dollars.
ANd that was good because keith had less than $20 in his pockets.
But I kind of knew that and was prepared to write a check because some of those military arms looked like major threats. But Keith didn't even break a sweat and that 1,000 was safe for a later day.
-
did anyone ever "go over the top " on you i heard tis a pretty intense move and beats everyone
-
Keith, how did you get involved in arm wrestling?
-

JBrezenk had incredible wrist strength. No one controlled my wrist but him. I wrestled with an inside move which prevents that move. Also, in the movie when he makes that move that is NOT how it is done. No way ever could anyone open their fingers and do that. Also, if you have awesome hand and wrist strength you are going to do good. If you can control the hand you will win most of the time. When I first started I always lost the start but i was stronger than most of them and I could come back. When you are in the pros, the guys are unreal fast and quick. And they are so strong that coming back is almost impossible. YOu can stop the initial hit and you may have a chance to bring the guy back but it takes alot out of you
Keith, how did you get involved in arm wrestling?
Just for the heck of it I tried it at a mall where they were doing the California Championships. I did pretty well considering I never done it before except for fun n high school. So I kept doing it. I almost quit once but Rick Zumwalt talked me into staying with it.
