Post by: Howard on October 26, 2008, 06:54:40 AM
As a proud member of the Ga NPC bodybuilders, promoters and judges I will be there to take it all in this NOV 21-22 at the Hyatt in downtown ATL.

ATL is a nice , high tech city and I think some of you musclehedz would enjoy it and the show. Give me a pm if you need  any gym advice or info on the area.

See ya at the show.

Trey Brewer has a date with 4th place.
Trey will makae an impact  and bring some of the best wheels.
I am anxious to see if he can pull his massive physique into a winning package however.
If he does he will have a lot of us locals pulling for him.

Ron and I disagree on which is a better show, the NPC nationals or Olympia.
I prefer seeing all the male/female wt classes going at it side by side while Ron seems to like the pro format more.To me that is more like real bodybuilding, but I digress.
I love seeing the comparisons of the figure as well.

I really relate to the NPC format a lot more, but we both agree that a good show is cool.
See ya there, Howard

Oh I forgot to mention that the ATL airport has a direct MARTA (modern subway tram) that goes within a couple blocks of the nationals hotel in downtown ATL.

Good Morning and Welcome to Atlanta - Like Howard says - " Marta is Smarta" Please avoid cabs - it is unnecessary and to expensive. Let me know if you need a Gym to train at and where the best steak places and best party spots. We will have a list provided for all.

Obviously you line in the metro ATL area? I am a few miles NW of the downtown.
Pm me if you want. Should be a great show! The last time the nationals was here local  female bodybuilder Mimi Jabalee won the overall. That was cool to see her get her pro card that night.   Howard

I will probably go since its in Atlanta. Is this right in the middle of downtown?
Yup, the Hyatt regency is right smack dab in the middle of ATL.
Easy to get to on the MARTA tram. Anyone who comes from out of town should head over and see the Ga Aquarium which is close. They have whale sharks!

They had full nationals contest preview coverage in this months MD. It was pretty decent.
The X Man lives in the metro ATL area, and is a class act.

Those of you traveling to Atlanta this weekend - suggested ways to get to the hotel/venue from the Hyatt Web site:

Transportation from Hartsfield International airport:
Go to the transportation booth at the airport and ask for a shuttle to the Hyatt Regency Atlanta Downtown. We recommend The Atlanta Link.  404-524-3400.  No reservations are necessary.  It runs 6 a.m. to midnight from the airport and it leaves the hotel every 10 and 40 minutes after each hour. $16.50 one way/$29 round trip per person.

The Concierge can arrange a limousine service to pick guests up at the gate for $65.00 for a town car, $85.00 for a SUV or $95.00 for a stretch limousine.

Taxi Service:
To/From airport fee: $30.00 plus $2.00 per each additional person.
Downtown Zone includes: North Avenue/Ashby to North Avenue/Boulevard to Boulevard/Atlanta to Atlanta Avenue/I75-I85 to I75-I85/Georgia Avenue to Georgia Avenue/Glenn Street to Gleen Street/Ralph David Abernathy to Boulevard back to Ashby Street/North Ave.

METERED RATES:
$2.50 = First 1/7 mile
$2.00 = Each additional 1 mile
$21.00/hr = Waiting time

Amtrak:(3 miles North of hotel) Taxi approx $11 plus tax

Greyhound/Trailways: Taxi approx $7.00 plus tax

M.A.R.T.A. - (Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) $1.75 per ride. Rail system runs approx every 10 minutes. Hyatt Regency Atlanta is connected to Peachtree Center Train Station via Peachtree Center Mall. 20 minutes from Airport. (Airport pickup at baggage claim, TH Terminal. To get to Hyatt, take M.A.R.T.A. to the Peachtree Center Station and exit Northeast towards Peachtree Center Mall.

Taxi service within downtown Atlanta has a $8 minimum.
