Of course the Lions didn't sell out, so there is no game on either fox or CBS till 4. This is bullshit, no 1 o'clock game and no 8 o'clock game tonight >:(

Isn't this the first time in the (short) history of Ford Field there's a black out?

Yeah. We knew it was coming though, no one wants to watch an 0-6 team. I think they are putting on Cops instead. :P

True wasn't much of a shocker.

No, I didn't even know they had a sports book. Have you ever been to Waterford? They have casinos now. Mainly just bars turned into casinos on weekdays. But I did go to a card room only called card sharks the other day. I am shocked that they allow it there.

Interesting. I love poker but with my new work schedule it's hard to play with the usual people.

Sorry Danielson, that sucks. The Redskins are always on TV in my neck of the woods, no matter who the opponent is.
Having one of the wealthiest owners in the NFL(Daniel Synder) will always assure that.

I take that back, looks like we get the London game. Not sure why Comcast didn't have it listed, but it's all good now.
-
Fuck, they showed God Save the Queen in London, then switch to the NYJ-KC game. I would rather watch the London game.

why no late game tonight?
-
Yeah, that's a bit of a disapointment to not have a Sunday late game. There should always be a late game every week.

Anyone else not live on the East Coast? :D
One of the things I love most about living in Hawaii is games start at 7 a.m. (8 after the time changes). This means you can watch two games by 1 p.m. and still have the entire afternoon to do whatever, unless you want to watch the "late" game, which starts at 2:15 p.m.

I realize this is "after the fact" but there was no Sunday night game because of the World Series. Personally, I think they should still show the game because the WS just isn't what it used to be and I'm sure the NFL game would destroy the WS in ratings. Maybe there is some sort of "gentleman's agreement" between the networks on this.

Can/could someone explain to me who "blacking out" games is supposed to encourage fans to attend them?
I ask this because in my view, out-of-sight, out-of-mind. The hardcore fans will ALWAYS be there. It's the fair weather ones that stop watching/attending games. So in essence, you (NFL) are punishing the fans who still somewhat care to watch their team (in this case, the Lions).
I've never understood the approach. They are still selling advertisements during games, right? So even if attendance is low, there's still that. And I guarantee you that the Lions game gets much higher ratings than whatever is shown in its place (usually re-runs, or some really obnoxious infomercials).
I don't get it.... ???
