Post by: stayhungry on October 27, 2008, 11:24:48 AM

Just curious as to what kind of music you guys listen to during your workouts.  I personally like metal......does anyone have any good metal bands I can "Borrow" from the internet???

For me it's really a mix of heavy shit and rap.

Bands like

Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
Disturbed
Atreyu
Born of Osiris
In Flames

And then rap like

Pastor Troy (Visa Versa, Saddam Hussein)
Lil' Wayne (Fireman)

There are lots of others, I try to mix them up so I find "that song" when I'm hitting my last sets and really go all out

I usually listen to "the Cult", ACDC, Off spring etc.

To get ready to train I usually
1) Take my pre work out booster
2) Watch a clip, something violent like F1 car crashes, gunships or C130 s taking out some bad guys
3) watch another clip, some thing XXX
4) watch something violent again then I am ready

Try pumping iron to a souped-up dance version of the themes to "Dora the Explorer" and "Elmo's World" every Thursday (courtesy of the aerobics instructor, whose system BLASTS right through the PA system and even my earphones, when I have my music handy!!!  ;D

Seriously though, when it comes to tunes, I was (and still am) a BIG fan of 90s high-energy tunes (house, techno, and freestyle). In fact, one of my most memorable workouts was back in college. The gym, in which I was training, was introducing a new aerobics class and actually hired a DJ from a local radio station to spin records LIVE, during the class itself.

Boy, I had the time of my life. I probably trained about 45 minutes longer than I should have (and paid for it dearly the next three days).

House of different varieties.

Ya, having a DJ has caught on in some bigger clubs, not a bad idea though a good mix CD can be just as good.

Actually, her song, "Toxic", is quite upbeat. I've hit the iron with that, blaring over the PA system.

If listening to Britney makes you think of Britney…

The Britney from a few years ago is a great Testosterone booster.
