Title: Obama's First 100 Days
Post by: headhuntersix on October 28, 2008, 07:43:08 AM
Obama's First 100 Days
By Patrick Buchanan from Realclear.com

What does the triumvirate of Obama-Pelosi-Reid offer?

Rep. Barney Frank is calling for new tax hikes on the most successful and a 25 percent across-the-board slash in national defense. Sen. John Kerry is talking up new and massive federal spending, a la FDR's New Deal. Specifically, we can almost surely expect:

-- Swift amnesty for 12 million to 20 million illegal aliens and a drive to make them citizens and register them, as in the Bill Clinton years. This will mean that Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona will soon move out of reach for GOP presidential candidates, as has California.

-- Border security will go on the backburner, and America will have a virtual open border with a Mexico of 110 million.

-- Taxes will be raised on the top 5 percent of wage-earners, who now carry 60 percent of the U.S. income tax burden, and tens of millions of checks will be sent out to the 40 percent of wage-earners who pay no federal income tax. Like the man said, redistribute the wealth, spread it around.

-- Social Security taxes will be raised on the most successful among us, and capital gains taxes will be raised from 15 percent to 20 percent. The Bush tax cuts will be repealed, and death taxes reimposed.

-- Two or three more liberal activists of the Ruth Bader Ginsberg-John Paul Stevens stripe will be named to the Supreme Court. U.S. district and appellate courts will be stacked with "progressives."

-- Special protections for homosexuals will be written into all civil rights laws, and gays and lesbians in the military will be invited to come out of the closet. "Don't ask, don't tell" will be dead.

-- The homosexual marriages that state judges have forced California, Massachusetts and Connecticut to recognize, an Obama Congress or Obama court will require all 50 states to recognize.

-- A "Freedom of Choice Act" nullifying all state restrictions on abortions will be enacted. America will become the most pro-abortion nation on earth.

-- Affirmative action -- hiring and promotions based on race, sex and sexual orientation until specified quotas are reached -- will be rigorously enforced throughout the U.S. government and private sector.

-- Universal health insurance will be enacted, covering legal and illegal immigrants, providing another powerful magnet for the world to come to America, if necessary by breaching her borders.

-- A federal bailout of states and municipalities to keep state and local governments spending up could come in December or early next year.

-- The first trillion-dollar deficit will be run in the first year of an Obama presidency. It will be the first of many.

Welcome to Obamaland!

Sounds like you chose a lifetime republican white house employee who has been shilling for Mccain nonstop.

Seriously, the trillion dollar deficit?  I thought repubs run a deficit and Clinton had a surplus?

Funny...some of u guys liked Pat a few weeks ago when he was bashing McCain on Georgia. Obama will do exactly what he is told to do by the dem base....u know he will raise both taxes and spending, u know he will pursue a Lib agenda. Why, because nothing in his past says he will do anything butn do that. No matter what he says he will do, all u have to do is look at his past. look at what he tried to do in the Ill. senate, look at the bills he supported and then decide what u think he will do know. He has no history of working with Repubs nor will he have to. 240 u will rue the day u voted for this jackass. Just wait, he will come for ur guns, he will take ur cash and he will fuck up this country.

Since you hate Obama so much - do you feel we've been on the right track for the past eight years?

I am sure he will raise spending and taxes in time but that should be a drop in the bucket compared to the funds being wasted now.  Sounds like you were the head writer for these robocalls.

As of 1 Oct the Iraqi's are paying for themselves......we're paying our costs and not the cost to rebuild. That money will be shifted to Afghanistan, the so-called "good" war by the Dems. I guess u guys can debate that later. U can debate the cash spent on Iraq all u want, but Obama will spend that and more. U decide where u want ur cash going...to some worthless social program or African shithole or to keeping us from glowing in the dark.

History has shown the Repub presidents are the biggest spenders in the last 30 years.   Based on that I'm glad a democrat is finally coming back to the white house.  At least they will not be fiscally irresponsible like repubs are.

 ;) ;D

Yeah.....we had a cold war to win, Clinton benefitted from being able to draw down the military and cut that type of spending. Obama will do more then bankrupt us. He's another carter, horribly naive plus he's got delusions of granduer. This guy is a major danger to this country. Giving a speech is not qualification enough

W/e dude, the bottom line is your assumption that dems are spending whores is pissed on by hard cold facts.

When are you gonna stop being a good little robot and think for yourself?

LOL...  as if numbers on a graph tell the whole story??  That was exactly HH6's point...  There's invariably more to the story than numbers on a spreadsheet...  graphs, charts and statistics can be spun like anything else.

A "robot" would be someone who draws conclusions based purely on numbers without taking into consideration the myriad factors that produced those numbers. ;)

Ozmo....spending on defense, infrastructure, schools etc is fine...wasting money on bs programs which the Dems love, is not. Also we can't have a damm discussion on every point which makes up what Reagan did, or Clinton did. Clinton benefitted from not htaving to spend billions keeping the Russian bear in a box. If a Repub got in, he'd have done the same. Bill was forced to run center left because the Repubs controled Congress, Obama won't have that problem. plus i don't think bill was all that radical, nor did he have any history of that. Obama is another story.

I understand there are circumstances a reasons.  None of the repub presidents did a bad job IMO (except BUSH mainly because of Iraq)

However, the numbers are the bottom line.  After all is said and done a dem president is the only one in the last 30 years who has lead us to a surplus.

The idea that all dems do is spend is more of a myth.  Or programming for a robot.   ;D

Agreed regarding Obama.   In 2 years you'll see a repub controlled congress.  I hope.

But again the bottom line is:  what ever dem programs are, and there are many wasteful government funded ones, the amount is far lower that the spending done by the repubs.  It's put us square in massive debt.  that's not being fiscally conservative is it?   If i was a repub i'd f-ing pissed that my party has evolved into democrats of old.

Yes....yes I am. Bush was not a conservative...I prefer a split gov, with the Repubs in charge of the purse strings...it worked under Clinton.

So I probably will vote dem.  i'd love to see Obama choose a Wes Clark for a running mate, or a Jim Webb, possibly more likely, for strong military and defense credibility.

yep, in Feb I said that.   And in the fall, 7 or 8 months later, I voted Barr.   I've posted it dozens of times.

I know, you get upset I celebrated that Bush/Mccain/cheney shitpile was voted out, and yes, I did.

But I wanted you to see just how vocal I was about Barr, I really like him.

In Feb, we had no idea who the candidates would be.   It's so funny to see you clinging to feb 2008 post to trump all the posts in the fall once Barr emerged.

People who read this board on a regular basis understand that you are a chronic liar and like to give lip service to a number of Republican candidates, while cheerleading for liberals.  Daily.

Thune 2012.

Bachmann 2012.

Huntsman 2012!

Perry 2012... it's gonna be the ticket.  Without a doubt.
