Well, first of all I would like to say that Kevin Levrone is my best bodybuilder ever and I don’t see any one close to him..
I really like his all look since he turned pro until he quit and if I were a judge in all of his Mr. Olympia contests I would give him first no doubt ;D
I honestly do think that he is the official winner of Mr. Olympia in the years of 92, 95, 97, 98, 00 and 02 ::)

There was this great shot. Kind of half way lunge with twisting torso back/bi shot, can't seem to find it tough...

Kevin's best was 95. Prior to 95 he didn't have the density and muscle maturity. And after 95 his legs went down in size a lot.

Its ironic because on the way up to the 2000 Olympia (M3) he said he was able to train legs heavy again unlike previous years due to his injury.
Dont agree with 1994, he was just more complete and polished in 2000.

He might've had more upper-body "size" in the 2k vid, but like I said, it's not clear if that's quality size or just that Escilene (sp?) puffiness.
I still think Kevin hit has best shape in the mid-nineties, before 1996. After that, he chased the size game too much; and when he got hurt, he lost too much Levronenese in his legs to be the Kev we all know and love ;D

That 2000 video doesn't do justice to Kevin at all (Unless you are implying that Kevin had pink skin in that contest).
I have the 2000 Olympia DVD, Kevin may of lost leg size but they were still in proportion with his upper body.
Fact is he was very dry in that contest, dryiest since the 93 ASC and 92 Olympia. (something we're not accustomed to seeing Kevin at that size)

2000 Olympia review by John Hansen (Natural Mr Olympia)
2nd Place - Kevin Levrone. Kevin surprised everyone, including myself, by placing second to Ronnie Coleman. After placing 4th for the last four years (1996-1999), I didn't even expect Kevin to be in the top five. His motivation and desire seemed to be lagging these last few years and, in fact, Kevin didn't even commit to competing in the Olympia until August of this year.
Kevin has been searching for the right bodyweight to compete at these last few years. Sometimes, he shows up huge and thick but lacking in definition (as he did at the '96 Arnold Classic and the '98 Olympia) and other times he shows up with more definition and refinement but is smaller than usual (as he did at the '99 and '00 Arnold Classic and the '99 Olympia). The problem with the lighter look that he displays is that Kevin loses size in his torso (his chest and back) which makes it harder for him to defeat bodybuilders such as Coleman and Flex Wheeler.
This year, Kevin achieved his best condition ever by showing up dry and hard but still retaining the fullness and size of his pecs and lats. The result was a well-earned second place in the biggest contest in the world.
Kevin's arms and legs are still extremely freaky and he showed great size throughout his physique. He was rock hard and displayed striated glutes along with ripped hamstrings. His upper body was also hard as stone highlighted by his out of this world delts. This was the best that Kevin Levrone has ever looked!!

In as much as Kevin looked great in 92, he is no match for Dorian, and 93 isn't worth mentioning, as it is even more the case. Any suggestion that Dorian looked anything less than superb and dominant in those years in particular, would indicate a substantial lack of prowess in evaluating physiques. That, or an obvious bias.

Kevin always ackowledged how great Dorian was. Kevin never complained after being beat by Dorian. (Kevin never beat Dorian at any show)
I believe Kevin did complain a little bit when Ronnie beat him back in 2000 and 2002. (Kevin beat Ronnie many times)

Kevin Levrone you should be very proud of yourself because in your 11 years as Pro you look at your best for 9 years. :)
Not to mention Ronnie or Dorian who looked in their best in their whole pro career only once or twice ;D

Dorian actually looked bad. Mass-for-Mass, Levrone and Wheeler matched him, but those two were much more proportional and balanced, not to mention much much more aesthetically sculptured.
Ronnie - the infamous pregnant gut, quads extremely overpowering the rest of the body...basically just like Dorian, but just much more massive.
Jay - well, actually the same thing. Super wide, arms too small in comparison to the rest of the body. Big legs, but quads shaped awkwardly.
Don't get me wrong, I have great respect for those three, but objectively speaking, the last 15 years should of been battles between Levrone and Wheeler.
Likely this year the choice was in favour of someone who can actually be classified as a bodybuilder, not a mass monster. Hopefully the sanity persists for the years to come.
In my book, Levrone has won the Mr.O at least twice.

i also noticed something: when Kev has no oil on - he's quads look great, deep cut and all...when he's oiled up on stage they seem to disappear...dunno, maybe the quality of the videos (i never seen him live)

I agree with the first three...I used to think Jay deserved to win the 01, but he just couldn't touch Ronnie from the back.
Kevin should've won at least one O during the Dorian reign... he couldn't hang with Ronnie's mass. IMO

• Kevin physique is much more symmetrical, harder and more conditioned.
• Kevin shoulders are the best in the History of bodybuilding (so no need to compare them with Nasser’s)
• Kevin chest is much more fuller than Nasser’s
• Nasser has big gluts with no stations while Kevin has small one with stations.
• Kevin hams is much more developed and defined than Nasser’s.
• Kevin has a better balanced back than Nasser.

The best ever of Mr. Levrone was at the Mr. O 98 (in my opinion) where he made Ronnie looks tiny compared to him.. :o
Levrone looked very full in that contest, but it really was no contest, as Ronnie took him to the cleaners in terms of conditioning.

However in a bodybuilding competition he gets terribly owned from the back by Ronnie and Dorian.
But if I could chose to look like any pro it would be Kevin.
Best year dunno. His legs where better 94 or so while upperbody was better 98-2000.

biceps didn't matter, it's genetic shape, i have very peaking biceps, some of my friends have flat ones, he had full biceps
he did need a bigger back, and i feel as the years went on his legs fadded.... :-\
he had huge quads early on...not so much later on
kevin didn't really put everything together at one time
he got his back better by the end but the legs had faded :-\

I'm an unbiased and objective bodybuilding historian of sorts. I can give you details on pretty much anyone in the pros up until Ronnie retired. I stopped giving a shit after that. Kevin has given me a reason to actually want to watch the Mr. Olympia for the first time since 2007.

Imo he was so much better in the mid/late 90's. His legs are very shrunken there and he just doesn't have that WOW factor anymore like he did up until the late 90's.

Just a remark.
What was the O for the past 15 years? Dorian's era, Ronnie's era, and Jay for just a short while.
Dorian actually looked bad. Mass-for-Mass, Levrone and Wheeler matched him, but those two were much more proportional and balanced, not to mention much much more aesthetically sculptured.
Ronnie - the infamous pregnant gut, quads extremely overpowering the rest of the body...basically just like Dorian, but just much more massive.
Jay - well, actually the same thing. Super wide, arms too small in comparison to the rest of the body. Big legs, but quads shaped awkwardly.
Don't get me wrong, I have great respect for those three, but objectively speaking, the last 15 years should of been battles between Levrone and Wheeler.
Likely this year the choice was in favour of someone who can actually be classified as a bodybuilder, not a mass monster. Hopefully the sanity persists for the years to come.
In my book, Levrone has won the Mr.O at least twice.
Wheeler was never massive and when he was larger in later years it was deformed muscles due to huge amounts of oil. Wheeler had the tiniest pecs, thin legs and was overall very narrow. He did have great muscle bellies and extremely tiny joints which gave off the illusion of mass, but it was just that, an illusion.

Yup and so was his crispness, mass and overall freakiness. Still a great bodybuilder but imo he hit his peak in 1998.

Either would have beaten Phil 2014 and 15.
Because of Phil's back I don't think Levrone could take him
2011-13 but Levrone is one of those rare bodybuilders who displays
both a Herculean type power physique plus aesthetics and flow.

HEATH can have all his mro's to me kev is/was better than he could ever be.kev's contest history is more impressive overall and he is probably in the top 15 maybe 10 of' all time greats' build wise and in his group 90's top 3 of all time.

'95 O and the '97 GPs. Had he brought the same package at the '97 O then at the Grand Prix', I believe he could have dethroned Yates. Too bad for him, Yates 95 was arguably his best ever also with '93. Kevin's 95 O showing would have topped Yates '94 and maybe even '96. Bad timing.
