We all saw folks rush to blame black folks and Obama for it - so now it is from "McCains side" so to speak, there are surely people jumping to the same negative [and unjust] conclusions. This was trying to sway a national election, serious business here.
I see Tony's point, but I feel this opens the door for more stunts like this in elections and claim "Oh I am nuts". In my opinion, many criminals are nuts, poor excuse. Does any *same* person rape a kid? Rape women? Criminals of that nature are all prolly mentally unbalanced, not referring to say burglars/white collar crime etc.

Political considerations aside, this is what mental impairment/disease looks like. It's pretty sad and sobering.
I've visited a county psychiatric ward on several occasions (the place where the uninsured go) and it was pretty tough. The patients, for the most part, are not rational in the slightest. That bland statement does not do justice to what it's like trying to communicate with someone who's lost the ability think and perceive even-handedly. Terrifying is a more apt description.

She ate at dennys with her republican club team. Then, she went into the bathroom and did the black eye with mascarm and faked a backwards B in the mirror.
Her friends paid the bill, and took pics of her. Then they called the police, while one of them ran back and called the Mccain campaign and sent over the pics.
it was on drudge the next morning.

My point was... she's obviously nuts (that's what the word "kook" means, in case that's a new word for you), so she's essentially being confined for some undetermined period of time for her own and others' safety but probably doesn't fully understand the consequences of her actions and thus obviously has not been deemed competent to be charged.
It's not like this is the first time that sort of thing has happened--do you think a murderer with Down's Syndrome should get the chair? Of course you don't, no reasonable person would.

I am fiendishly anti-DP in 99% of cases anyway, but the USA is one of a handful of nations that *does* execute people with mental disabilites though - along with Iran, China, Saudi Arabia and a few more tyrant type nations, in fact the US is the only first world nation to do so. So I really don't see why one can kill someone with mental issues, but can't charge someone with one. Makes no sense to me.

I do follow the adage two wrongs don't make a right however, and same way Acorn is getting tons of media play and people are grasping over election issues, there are ones of all kinds and they all should be looked at and non brushed off.
If one "side" just talks about what the other "side" does, there will be back and forths all day long, as there are discrepancies everywhere. Deal with them each is my altruistic thought.

Not when you have been arrested for committing a crime and then let off and not charged. She committed Fraud which is a Federal Felony. In order for her to get off those charges she would have to plead not guilty in front of a judge due to "Temp Insanity, or just plain out Insanity". Its not like she stole come gum. What she did for most folks would warrant prison time.
It's not a crime to be "mentally disturbed". But, since she is getting OFF on these charges, they can't hold her for simply being "Mentally Disturbed". If that was the case, Coach would have been locked up years ago... :D

well you see the problem is that its a government funded organization and it is decidedly bias. I have no problem with independent organizations getting voters registered and helping ppl vote but if it is funded by the government it should be NUETRAL.

This does not mean that the government created Aids, but it shows that our Gov has done it to its own people. THink of the chemical weapons that we rant about Sadam used on his people. Where do you think he bought those weapons? Who do you think created those terrible Biologial warfare weapons? Give it 1 guess....

If she's found mentally unable to stand trial and locked in the loony bin, the I'm ok with that, however this looks very premeditated and not impulsive like most crimes of mental illness.
I would think the premeditation should warrant a charge for filing a false police report at the least... I would question as to whether the idea of inciting anger based on race could warrant a "hate crime".
