I would say no more then five days. I used to run a kitchen back at a restaurant & five days was the standard for cooked food (if I remember correctly).

If it's raw, I'd cook it up within 2-3 days, then freeze it if you can't eat it all within another 2-3 days.

Probably about the same. However, I personally won't cook meals & such for over three days in advance.

You can always Freeze cooked foods and eat later.

thanks, ill keep that favorited in my browser.  the numbers seem on the extreme conservative side, as in 1-2 days only for fish and chicken.

So if somebody wanted to cook their chicken & beef every Sunday for the week ahead.

How would that look?

3 days worth gets put in the fridge, then 4 days in the freezer. Then on Wednesday take the rest of the chicken out the freezer?

Repeat.

Success?  ;D

i bought alot of chicken yesterday because it was at a good price.

  Depends on two things:

  - How mature the meat was when it was frozen.

  - How cool your refrigerator gets.

From my experience, chicken starts tasting foul after 6 or 7 days after cooking even if you have a good refrigerator. But then, I seldom eat meat nowadays, so it doesen't really matter to me anymore.
