Midland.
-
That's funny. I've been told before that I have a california accent. I have no idea what that is, but I grew up in utah. (survey said, west)
-
Result: South America ???
-
Your Result: The Midland
"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

Midland

The Inland North, but I'm from Sweden. ;D

Same here, must be what much international falls under ???
-
What American accent do you have?
Your Result: Philadelphia
Your accent is as Philadelphian as a cheesesteak! If you're not from Philadelphia, then you're from someplace near there like south Jersey, Baltimore, or Wilmington. if you've ever journeyed to some far off place where people don't know that Philly has an accent, someone may have thought you talked a little weird even though they didn't have a clue what accent it was they heard.
The Inland North
The South
The Midland
The Northeast
North Central
Boston
The West
And I'm from the Netherlands.

Your Result: The Northeast
Judging by how you talk you are probably from north Jersey, New York City, Connecticut or Rhode Island. Chances are, if you are from New York City (and not those other places) people would probably be able to tell if they actually heard you speak.
not even sure how i sound when i speak. probably something simular to Magnus Samuelson which isn't even close to New York accent or any american accent :P
-

Most of us can speak english although we have a few languages, it isn't my first language though and I most surely do not sound "midlands" or whatever they claim >:(
-
American Pacific Island accent, Samoan/Hawaiian. With a slight Utah influence thrown in at times. Bet a lot of guy's who post on here have an ethnic dialect, knowing it or not. Like Mexican American or American urban Black. Dialect is not the same as accent.
-

-
Joe Pesci-like accent.

Idiotic and unscientific... ::)
Allegedly I am from the Inland North... ::)
He is taking classical minimal pairs and assuming homogeneity on the part of speakers.
-
Spot on
The Inland North
You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."
And no, carbonated drinks are SODA.

You may be from NYC, but you SOUND like someone from the inland north. Ever considered that?
Btw, on a big enough scale, NYC IS inland north.
;D ;D

I am not afflicted by the regionalisms that most NYCers have.
It's true enough that my accent is difficult to localise.
The survey DOES make SOME sense in that many of the samples are homophones to many people in the states and one can often identify place of origin based on them.
-
MIDLANDS, but for all they know, I actually do live in Charleston.
