Michael Moore: Obama ‘Most Liberal’
Monday, November 3, 2008 10:01 AM
By: Jim Meyers
Left-wing filmmaker Michael Moore has sent a message to potential voters on his e-mail list gloating over Barack Obama’s “most liberal” status.
“McCain is right about one thing: Barack Obama is the most liberal senator in the United States Senate,” the “Fahrenheit 9/11” director declared.
“More liberal than Ted Kennedy. When was the last time you had a chance to send the MOST liberal senator to the White House? Trust me, it won’t happen again in our lifetime.”
The e-mail sent on Monday also stated: “Tomorrow, we need to create a massive popular vote that will give Obama a stunning mandate to return this country to we, the people.”
Moore warns that voters could “expect trouble” at the polls, and urges those waiting on line to “bring the party with you. Make new friends. Plot your local revolution.”
He concludes: “60 seats in the Senate! 30-seat increase in the House! President Obama! It’s in your hands. The Promised Land.”

Don't worry, the dems can't help but fuck this up....if Obama thinks this is about him and a mandate..he'll be on his ass in 4 years.
-
He'll be a one term president if he wins.

Seriously... NObody could possibly live up to the level of hype that surrounds him... his supporters who expected him to be the Second Coming are going to be bitterly disappointed when they find out they're still going to be responsible for paying their mortgages and putting gas in their tanks.

Yep. One of the things that is so amazing about this is he is way out of the mainstream when it comes to the majority of Americans. I don't think the majority of the country shares his views on economic or social issues. If he gets in with a solid majority in both houses, they will start spending money we don't have, raise taxes, hand out checks to people who don't deserve them, pass radical legislation regarding abortion, support homosexual marriage, get rid of Don't Ask Don't Tell in the military, etc. I don't think that's where a majority of the country is from a policy standpoint.
On top of that, the economic crisis will not be solved in the next few years. He won't be able to blame Bush in four years.

I guess this explains Bush's second term. He set the bar so low in terms of expectations that voters mistakenly believed he had to deliver more than he appeared capable of.
Most of the left is pretty realistic about what Obama can accomplish. Most of the "second coming" crap comes from the right. What impresses people is that he's a guy who , by any rational, objective measure, is not your typical politician. He's largely scandal-free(the little dirt he does have on his hands is drastically over-exaggerated by the right.) He is undeniably smart and cool headed, which is something America needs now. He may not be the best president ever, but he is our best option right now and, after the last four years, he is a more-than-welcome change.
-
I don't see how he is going to accomplish all that he promised in our current economic situation and was dissapointed when he did not acknowledge that and dodged the questions about specific programs he was going to repeal when asked in the debates.
I just don't understand how people could vote for a bigger governement, more spending and more taxes. In hindsight, I would have voted against Bush because of his excessive spending.
Obama (historically) is far more liberal than mainstream America (I hope thats still the case). We'll see what he does in office though. He may be a person to change his position as he re-evaluates situations in the position of president, which is fine if it is necessary. I hope for a shift to the middle!!

Ur of course kidding right...he does come from THE WORST POLITICAL MACHINE IN THE COUNTRY. Further, its the media who creates scandal....and they love the guy. Yep u guys are going to get change alright...right up ur ass and out of ur wallets.
-

LOL, prophetic... I'm going to get this made into a bumper sticker. ;D

Where do I appear to be kidding? He may come from a notoriously corrupt region, but he's managed not to get any on him. Repubs have tried everything,- Ayers, Rezko, blah blah blah- and none of it sticks because it's all irrelevant. the ties are tangential at best.
And there is no way Obama could be as incompetent as Bush. There just isn't eve a possibility.
-
I would really love to see the reaction of all those idiots in Chicago if he were to loose...
Dude..it does not stick because the media has not allowed it to stick. They don't care, so the masses don't care. U guys are so blind to this change mantra that nothing matters....it will. This guy is who he is...and u will be forced to pay through the nose for change u can believe in.

This post is pretty fucked up if you think about it. The difference between you guys and the left eight and four years ago is that you are hoping against hope and reason that Obama fails, even at the expense of your country. The left didn't hope the country would fall apart, we just used common sense and plain eyesight to see that Bush was a terrible choice for president.
He's like your best friend's crazy ex-girlfriend. She was totally crazy when they met, and you tried to warn him, but for some reason he was shocked when she ended up cutting his dick off in his sleep.
-
Again..what? The Dems did everything they could to undermine our war effort...they wanted us to loose a major land war in the Middle East...Ur idiot voted against the surge....to bad it worked. Not every dem of course...just the idiots in power. Pelosi/Reid/Kennedy etc etc. Obama and Biden are worthless pieces of shit. Obama will tax and spend us into the ground.
-

The Left hoped everyday Bush would fail...everyday. If we get attacked again on the scale that was 911...no Republican columnist will be blaming the US or coming up with some ridiculous conspiracy theory, they'll be praying that our naive wuss president actually does something about it, and get behind should he do so.
-
Obama will tax and spend us into the ground.
Do you think he will manage to increase the debt 5 trillion? Borrow as much money as all other Presidents combined?
Bush has already spent and borrowed the US into the point they have the dubious honor of being the largest debtor in history. Doubt anyone - Obama or Mccain - can really top that.
-
Al, many feel exactly the same about the left. They hated Bush so much that some wanted American to fail so they could feel vindicated. The far left and far right in this country are very sick.
-
No, don't even go there. This was was ill-conceived and poorly managed. This is not a democratic meme. It's a fact. The "success" of the surge had more to do with ethnic cleansing, mass displacement and the al Satr ceasefire.
Even if the surge had been an unqualified success, and even if the democrats had undermined the war at every point, Bush did an amazing job of fucking it up all on his own up until that point, making my lost post completely valid.
-
CQ, the deficit we are in has a lot to do with the war in Iraq that we have been funding since 2002. If we didn't have the war, I bet this country would be in better shape. What a disaster...from one wrong decision.

Right. They were so supportive of Clinton. They didn't let some ridiculously politicized nonsense like the Monica Lewinsky affair get in the way of anything.

He will continue to spend spend spend......except it will be for social programs and whatever pet projects he feels are warrented.
The surge was a success because of the fact that we reinforced, because we changed tactics, because AQI went to far, because Petreaus developed a better way to fight a counter-insurgency. Al Sadr was forced to to cease fire because we frog stomped his guys during week 2 of the Basra action, week 2 wasn't really mentioned in the media. We stomped him because we had the troops to pull from quieter areas. We stomped him because AQI was crushed in many provinces.....the bottom line was Obama didn't back it...and were he in charge, we would have lost. Losing in Iraq encourages our enemies.
Bush did screw up post OIF ops..but he had enough sense to back P4 and it was and is a great success.
What support did clinton need...we weren't at war where we. He had sex in the Oval Office and lied about it. An issue I could care less about.
-

I agree, an extremely poor decision, and sad thing is the finances are really not even the biggest issue.
-
In hindsight, Clinton was a pretty decent president. I think the problem most people had was when he addressed the nation and lied to us. I wouldn't have cared much about the Lewinsky affair but when he chose to address the nation and lied so convincingly, that did strike a sour note. Nonetheless, its small potatoes compared to the war in Iraq!
-
He'll be a one term president if he wins.
Not if the GOP continues to run crappy ass candidates against him.
-
Nope...no way...they have 4 years to make a case against this guy.

There may not have been a "need" ... and I use that term loosely... for the Iraq war had the right not gone on that ridiculous witch hunt. It's was the point of my previous post. They will do the ame thing with Obama. Headhunter is trying to make the argument that the right is above partisan bickering when the practically invented it.
-
No I'm not....but whatever the Repubs did under Clinton forced him to the center...there won't be much of a need for Obama to do any of that as the Dems will or should control Congress....in which case we're screwed.
-
Don't worry... it can't be any worse than it is now.
-
Not if the GOP continues to run crappy ass candidates against him.
There have been crappy candidates on both sides.

I'm starting to wonder about Michael Moore...

LOL starting to wtf??? this dude has been a crackpot since Day fuking one.
-
On an unrelated note, Michael Moore is extremely unsexy :-X
-

I'm sorry HH, but if you can't see that the War in Iraq is nothing BUT a social program... a program that doesn't even aide people in the United States, then there is no reasoning with you.
It IS a social program... It's just being funded with weapons in a foreign land for people I could give two shits about.
-
LOL starting to wtf??? this dude has been a crackpot since Day fuking one.
Yeah, he is, but he's an eloquent one... Serious question here.
No one believes a word out of his mouth right? He's a complete liar and he makes up everything... So why believe him when he says Obama is the most liberal?
Either he's a liar or he's not...
It's just like GWB being behind 9-11... Either he's an idiot or he's the most evil genius man on the planet.
You can't have it both ways... Personally, I think Moore is a liar, so forgive me if I don't believe that Obama is "the most liberal".
His healthcare plan is certainly not as liberal as Hillary's was.
-

A person can be right about one thing and wrong about another holmes, just b/c you are wrong on one subject doesnt mean you are wrong across the board. I think hes voting record in the senate is what he was referencing he is the most liberal voter of the senate.
-

I just don't understand his motive in saying this now. It's odd. He hammered Clinton, well he had issues with Reagan too. are you sure this guy isn't a republican plant... :D He sure comes across like the guy you don't want to be in agreement with sometimes... from that perspective and when he says stuff like this right before the election, I would think you'd really like the guy lol...

I'm on Moore's mailing list and I never received this, is this story legit?

Bowling For Columbine was brilliant imo. Roger and Me was damn good too. Fahrenheit 9/11 was almost unwatchable. He should continue to take on corporations and leave politics(where he alienates half his audience) alone.

he's been critical of every president since Reagan including Clinton, he only became a bad guy for going after Bush... Roger and Me was good, I didn't like Bowling for Columbine, he identified the problem being the media's fault and then diverted from his discovery to go attack Heston? He lost me there.

If the economy didn't take a hit due to bad mortgages then people would not have been voting for the Kenyan out of fear. Rest assured he will not live up to his promises.

what does a Kenyan politician have to do with the mortgage/financial crisis and how does it relate to Obama vs. McCain?

Oh, my bad. Kenyan (Obama) would not be getting so many votes if the economy was good because people have been duped into thinking the idiot is actually going to put a ton of money back in their hands.

lol, Obama is American silly... If he were Kenyan he couldn't run for president.
