Title: Who here would want separate liberal and conservative subforums?
Post by: TrapsMcLats on November 10, 2008, 09:06:42 AM
I'm sure many of us are tired of swimming through each other's BS to find something interesting.  I'm not saying we couldn't still discuss topics together, but i think subforums would be interesting.  Anyone else want to chime in on this.  Coach?

Would be an idea to keep all of this stuff off the forum.

Hmm, maybe an option but I really think everyone's differing opinions is what makes it interesting. Just my thoughts.

My only hangups I have is some people occasionally being really rude and nasty, but all in all we are a good bunch I think.

What's the point of only talking to people who agree with you?

The sub-forums would just be an echo chamber

no, thats just where the subject matter would be posted.  I still want everyone to talk to everyone.

I frequent both far-right and far-left forums.

Those places ban and delete anything that goes against their mindset.

As a result, they keep on perpetuating the BS that gets posted there.

People don't learn anything.  They stick with what is comfortable.  They aren't challenged to face stark realities.  Hugo, you can admit that Obama is a bit of a gun-grabbing socialist.  Joe, you can admit Mccain opened up our borders and chose an idiot for veep.  I would still be reciting pro-Bush rhetoric as I was in 2004, until someone posted some 911 clips and I learned what a lie that day was.

IMO it would ruin the board.  Our traffic isn't high enough to warrant it, as well.

I'm just citing subject matter, not opinions.

I do. I get sick of 240 regurgitating every stupid story he watches on CNN(I get cable too, I see the same fkn stories), sick of Hugos celebrating everything liberal and bashing all republicans, sick of MattTs retardism and racism, shit I could go on forever. Give Coach and HH a board.

Too many subforums now. Need to have room for debate.

Debate? Is that what you think this board is for? The board is nothing more than a handful of liberals gloating and copying and pasting every article they see or anything they hear on TV. We need a board with intelligent conversation.

We do see more than a few RUSH transcripts here as well.

Yeah. Colossus 500's, Beach Bum's, Coach's and HH6's constant cutting and pasting have really made this forum too liberal.  ::)

The board has a pretty even Lib/Con ratio. I've been a member here for more than 8 years and remember when that wasn't the case.

Why not just go to Free Republic or Stormfront if differing opinions are too much for you?

The problem is that most people here rarely concede a point, even when proven wrong by fact.

NOW if everybody could say that the board would be perfect...however you have many ppl on here who either dont care or intentionally try and spin shit.

Very very very true that being said I think the argueing and debating is what makes this board fun and I wouldnt want to see 2 seperate boards
