Would you say at 290 he is more of an athlete then the whole IFBB combined?

my guess is that most IFBB pros would be very good sprinters due to their quad and hamstring strength and size but not very good endurance athletes.

So jay cutler at 300 would run 40 yards at about 5 sec no? ;D

Probably the only one though,

I would guess otherwise, but that is just me. Not training for strength (sprinting) as well as their HORRIFIC quad:hamstring ratio would make me think otherwise.

yeah we all know iffb had ONE good sprinter.. :)

Jason
that ratio would guarantee a tear : either muscle or tendon ...
if I bodybuild and have big legs, and I wanna sprint, I would take a few months to slowly work up to full sprinting ..

Brockwurst is a hard training dude.
Props.

I call BS on that time. If he ran that legit (electronic timer) they wouldn't have cut him but rather developed him. You don't waste a dude that runs a 4.75 @ 290.

Shit that is insane, the dude flipped over backwards.
Lesnar's up from my part of the woods, frickin guy is farmer strong and it don't get no stronger than that.
He trains here once in a while with another fighter, Brock Larson.

......or they wouldn't have cut him.
It is my understanding that he (Lesnar) was pretty raw, Coach. So while he's strong and agile and possesses athletic skills/abilities, you can't just walk on to the NFL without having played Football since Highschool. His advanced age made him a long shot. As you know, a guy in his early 20's can be developed and in time pay off. A raw guy, in his latter 20's, is not likely to be kept around even on the practice squad.

I think it was at Sydney 2000 or Athens 2004....
A small country like American Samoa had a shot putter...but for whatever reason he had to choose another discipline to compete in. This guy was enormous and huge man, very powerful looking looked at least 270.
Anway he choose the 100m. Seemed fast for teh first 20m the died. Eventually clocked 14.78 or somthing.
Also olympic weightlifters are the most explosive powerful athletes in the world over teh first 30yards i think it is

last time I checked I was 83 lbs less than I weighed at the Olympia last year. The past couple months I may be down another 10. When I know I am at a weight I feel alot better at I will take a pic. I have no pics of my brother. The last time I saw him was 1998. We played golf in Maui during his honeymoon. I have not talked to him since either We were never close except when we lived at home. He is a CHP in southern cal.

i know i used to. My first year at Ball State, I ran a sub 4.9 at 315. I want to say it was 4.79, but i really do not remember. I do remember it was electric, but I cannot for the life of me remember the times. Right now, I would say I have the potential to run that fast, but due to my lack of running flexibility, hip mobility, and general lack of conditioning, both GPP and SPP would make me slower than I would care to admit, and expose me to potential injury. I am however trying to get backk in "athletic" shape if you will, and when I get to the point I feel I can do something, Ill video it and post it up.

i was gonna say with your leg strength you should be pretty explosive for short runs.

I do allright. this is an onlyme-esque story, so bear with me for a second. when I was in the Army, I could run a 2-mile for the PT test it 12:26. I did this at a BW of 270ish. It was all I could do to stay in a 5 mile run at an 7 minute per mile pace, but could run 10 miles in 90-100 minutes and not die. I remember I ran 4.7something in high school in the 40, but it wasnt electric. I do think I have a touch ;D of explosiveness, and posing ability...see video for proof of both ;D :P

Its why they play 15 yards off of the line of scrimmage. Also, they have the same lateral speed as they do forward, and dont have a hard time putting the brakes on. I posess none of those skills while running. :D

It's long been proven that any bodybuilder who has run the 40, has done so in under 4.5 time.

Actually, if you re read what I wrote, I said that I cannot recall the time exactly. I think most could tell you around here that I dont bullshit when it comes to numbers. Im not really trying to impress anyone, and i use my real name to post...lying would just bite me in the ass. :D
