Title: In praise of Zane
Post by: Sam on November 13, 2008, 03:41:27 PM
Why dont we see condition like this anymore. While I understand he may not carry enough size for everyone's liking, IMO perfect proportions.

this first pic is awesome, he could have been good at bodyweight exercises with that build.

This is the best shot I've seen of a bodybuilder actually looking good in regular clothes.

Guys, it was a different day back then!  That was considered a good physique.  The thickest guy was probably Bertil Fox, and in an old MD mag, the referred to him as over developed.  Remember, people still didnt know what to think about bodybuilders.  The magazines pushed protein powder and nobody new the truth.

ok,zane for 1 started a conditioning for the contest stage still used today, had a healthy outlook on training and eating which today he still advocates and has done so that he dosen't look like someone who abused there body with drugs or overeating to compensate for lazy training.whatever drugs he used then paled in comparison to today standards but the reliance to use has changed since then, only he knows the cycles,we don't.you can never discredit any olympian ,due to the fact for that period or time they were the best prepared that day for the title.he was one of my favorites due to being able to showcase his physique through proper posing, presentation, and overall look.props to a great bber.

There is tons of these proportions around, at NPC level, it's what most of the guys look like before they get big enough to become a modern day pro.

P.S. Post a back shot so we can see the total lack of glute conditioning.

But none of them does it as good as Zane did.

definately awesome-

but I agree-   there are a lot of amateurs that have a similar look-   and the first pic in the thread is not that great conditioning-  nothing compared to the cross-striated monsters of today

he looked good in some shots-  but was too thin in others IMO

Dude is light years ahead of me but that's the look I want. I'd be happy as hell having a Zane like physique.
