Is there a better pick than her? Hilary and Bill meeting with leaders all over the world?
-

I love all the "Change" we are seeing already. You people who voted for this jerk have no idea what you did. "Change" was just a slogan and you fools ate it up.
This is Clinton 1993 redux 24/7 with this clown.

It's change from the Bush flavor, and that's what matters to most people.

And when people voted for GWB in 2000, they wanted "Change" from the Clintons.
This stupid cycle of nonsense never ends.
No more Bushes, Kerrys, Clintons, Gores, McCains, Doles, etc,
We need to retire these people to Florida already.
-
But as Sec of State, at least Clinton is well qualified.
-
If I were Hillary, I'd pass on Secretary of State and remain in the Senate.

LOL, yes, same old cronyism as always. "Change." Hah.
Hilary's in Chicago today on "personal business" according to her spokesperson. Yeah, right.
But honestly that's okay... all of Obama's flowery campaign rhetoric was just that--talk. He likely won't end up being drastically different than his predecessor on important domestic and foreign policy issues. Wait and see.
-
Will she be used for propaganda purposes? :)
-
Richardson also in the running. He'd be a much better choice.

You do know that Hilary's family is from Chicago, ...and she grew up there?
Maybe she DOES have personal business there.

She's not well qualified for the position.
She's been a first lady and a junior Senator from NY, not exactly with the reputation as someone who works well with others either.
Bill Richardson has the background for Sec. of State and has the respect of more Democrats than Hillary Clinton does.
He's been an ambassador already and has brokered deals with foreign leaders during the Clinton Administration.
The guy basically does our dirty work to get the people we don't like to work with us.
Hillary Clinton is a divisive figure who would only turn-off our allies and alienate our adversaries.
I think Obama is doing this as a ploy so he can say he considered her, while having the intention of choosing Richardson all along.
Kerry is a back-up in case Richardson says no......
Bypassing Richardson for Clinton would be a huge mistake, especially with the Latino contigent in the Democratic party.
I don't think Richardson would accept another cabinet position other than Sec. of State.....
The guy has a huge ego and he's of much more use to Obama politically than a vanquished Hillary is.
Obama beat Hillary, he doesn't need her to win..........now or in the future.
As far as I'm concerned, the Clintons care more about their own legacy than they do the country.

I think this is one of the worst possible things he could do...... She would have way too much power to shape foreign policy. Remember this congress had hillary as their first choice. They got barrack. He should really steer clear of her imo.

Agree, I somehow find the Hillary choice kinda weird ???

I really don't think she's qualified either.

Richardson is way more prepared for the job.
BUT
a clinton pick unites the party (those damn PUMAs)
plus
Hilary brings Bill on her trips, and you get someone who arguably is more qualified for that job than Hilary, Richardson, or Obama. Bill Clinton spent 8 years negotiating with many of these leaders. HAving him in the room would be an asset.

I agree with you 100%, but it's not a wise decision in terms of policy for Obama to pick Hillary.
Richardson plays hardball and can get things done with our enemies, the people who would laugh at Hillary in negotiations.
Some of these countries won't even negotiate with a woman because they don't see them as equals.
Can you imagine someone like Putin taking her seriously? :-X

Madeline Albright?

I think Clinton is a pretty good choice and she's certainly qualified (as is Richardson and probably many others). I think Obama's is following the Lincoln model of preferring to have his rivals inside the tent pissing out rather than outside the tent pissing in.

Richardson? As in the governor of New Mexico?
wiki his resume... he's probably the most qualified of the bunch... he sat and played hardball with saddam back in the day, was clinton's energy secretary, involved with UN, etc.
