I take people and situations as they are. In general I'd say there's more racism on the politics forum than here. People here are just a little more honest, which I respect.
My personal feelings about racism are pretty simple. Racism is the sign of a weak mind but some people really need it as a buffer from their own reality. This shouldn't be taken as me being mean but think about it... someone with a shit job, no education or hope needs something left to feel good about. On an intellectual level, racism is sort of interesting and I'm curious what the cultural impact of a black president will be.
I hang out here as a distraction and to have some laughs. No more, no less.

Jag, MattT and CQ are the biggest racists on Getbig. Can you imagine if there were a white dude running for public office in some African country and you and I decided to bash the black dude running against him for months and months on end even though the election had nothing to do with us. They showed their true colors, at least now we know they hate us crackers.

You're not expected to read all my posts but I've always said whites don't have a monopoly on racism. It's not like I read everyone's posts there and know who's black, gay, chinese etc... I pick up on threads that might seem interesting but don't care enough to read every thread. I came back to politics for a few laughs because of the election.
I'm responsible for my own shit, that's it. Sure, I'll break balls, take a controversial position or ask tough questions but it's the process itself I'm curious about, not the responses. Gay marriage, for example.. I don't care deeply if gays marry, I'm more interested in the degree to which people can articulate their positions. I'm convinced anyone who compares gays to blacks is a fucking moron, but that's only one man's opinion. :)
There was a thread asking if Obama would have won if he weren't black. The economy sucks so bad that he would have beaten McCain even worse if white, IMO. I asked "Would he have won if his wife was white" and no one would respond because we all know damn well he wouldn't have even been a candidate with a white wife. :)

The only foreigner I don't mind talking about our politics there is HH. he actually does talk about issues and has some interesting opinions. The rest of them need to mind their own fkn business, especially when bashing our leaders simply because they are white.

Yeah. CQ's a cool person but her double standard is hilarious too. It cracks me up. She bitches and bitches about US "imperialism" and their interventionist policies but NEVER comments on Russia or China doing the same exact thing, and the way they handle it is usually worse. She's got some personal vendetta against the US for things they did 1/2 a century ago. The stupidity of some people is astounding. It's sort of difficult to bash a leader in America who isn't from the majority. We're a little isolated and don't get how we look from the outside.

A deep-rooted sense of jealousy. It has to be. That's why almost every bashing post includes some reference to their country and one of its "perks" it has over America, like not having to pay taxes. Yes, your country has 1 million people and no infrastructure, military, industry, and the majority of your people live in poverty, of course they don't have to pay taxes because they can't. ::)

I see alot of people use this phrase and I thinks it's bullshit. There are alot of factors that contribute to how some people react to people of other races. I've talked to HM about this a little bit, but there are personal experiences that form some peoples opinions on other races.
My dealings with blacks as a teenager......I knew 3 of them......
One was locked up at 17 for drugs, at school.
The other two were locked up at 19 for raping and murdering a white girl.

Back in the day a cop and I were out drunk and the Rodney King video was playing (this was before the trial), he said the cops didn't really do anything wrong because their adrenaline got out of control. Of course I asked if he'd say the same thing if five black cops were beating a white guy. He called me an asshole and said 'you just don't get it', LOL!
One of my childhood friends was hung by police in jail. They didn't admit responsibility but settled with the family.

I was closer with his brother. Long story short, he got picked up for drunk and disorderly. His father was at work and would have been pissed to the guy called a neighbor begging for help and said the cops were going to kill him. Neighbor was broke and didn't take him seriously. Allegedly he hung himself in jail, we all know suicide in the black community barely exists. They eventually settled and his younger brother ended up becoming a policeman.
Now I'm not going to be racist and say blacks never commit suicide but it's very rare. In general, blacks are pretty religious/superstitious and believe you can't go to heaven if committing suicide. This guy was a pretty bad drunk and never, ever..... ever knew when to shut the fuck up if drunk or high. He was definitely the type to talk shit but not kill himself, especially considering he was around 19 at the time.
