I am trying to add some size on my hams. I tried stiff legged deadlifts today and although I felt shit all while doing them at the gym, tonight they feel like they will be sore.
Seems like the complete opposite to the normal contraction type of exercise.
Do you guys like these?

I use them. they are GREAT for hamstrings. i do more in a RDL fashion though.

almost any kind of DL is going to rip up your hamstrings. i haven't done a leg curl in forever except one or two sets once in a while just to get the blood flowing, most of my ham work is DL/goodmorning variants with periodic forays into a glute-ham raise (our gym's hurts like shit so i rarely use it >:( ).

Try doing compounds of these with lunges. You will "thank" me later!
-
deadlifts themselves will do the job, but there is no harm in changing now and again.
Leg curls have their place too

I like stiff legged deadlifts while holding heavy dumbells.
I like doing lying leg culs while holding a dumbell between my feet too.

I do straight leg dead lift but i like good mornings also

I feel them more in my hams when using dumbbells too. Unfortunatly because of my back I can't go too heavy anymore. :'(

you may also try goodmornings while keeping legs straight, do not use much weight, focus on the stretch

Yep, i love doing them with DB's. I can feel it a lot more than when using a BB.

Yup, I like SLDL's better with DB's.
