is that true?
why's he running?
He won his class didn't he? if he did, then it's true :-X:-X
Actually this is the correct way to do that pose.
True.....but first you have to have a back.
Hell, this makes me believe i will be able to turn pro soon... 8)
Actually this is thecorrect way to doway you're supposed to look in that pose.
well who should have beat him, i thought he was the clear winner. his class was kind of weak.
A little disapointing .. I'm sure he is a good guy and works hard .. That being said : was there anyone in his class who should've beat him ?
Congrats Peter. You were the best in the class last night. Well deserved victory. Sorry all you jealous haters!
Poor other Pros.Is this for real ? I'm not being a jerk but his rear lat spread is disastruous
That means Lights out game over on the pro stages of this world. ;D
:)
ALL HYPE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!He really is but instead of being annoyed,
small, smooth and narrow, legs look ok but his upper body is terrible.
Welcome back Dave???
WOW!!! What the hell happened? What happened ? Why ? Did he used to have a kick ass back and physique and he fucked it up ??

From flexonline interview:
"The new pro says he will take some time and confer with Bob Cicherillo and decide whether to stay [at this weight] and do the 202's or add more size and be competitive in the open lineup."
I ate at Chili's last night.Babyback ribs?
I ate at Chili's last night.
did you do a little drinking? I rarely eat Chili's, but when I do, it's usually with family, which makes me want to get the 2-for-1 happy hour margritas...
PUTNAM is just another pretty boy for the face of IFBB.Somebody they can put on the magazines. He looked like crap his arm pits was green he was 3 or 4 weeks off. This is why so many good bodybuilders quit the sport they need to stop this crap or IFBB will go down the tupes. Last words he was fat and flabby like larry holmes.putnam is far from pretty

and this guy looks then times better
That German guy is astounding. I'd like to see the prejudging comparison pics if anyone has them.

He is Greek, not German. He just compete in Germany.

Here is a topic i've made for him with pics and video from his competition.
I'd love to see this guy with a slin gut.
Met Putnam and his wife a few times in Dayton ohio...
nicest guy, works his ass off, and his wife is super cool too.
Starter of this thread is jealous.

That's an ignorant statement. The starter of this thread (Jim) has proved his worth as a top nutrionist with some of the Pro's? Why would he be jealous?
Just because we give a objective view on Putnum's win does not mean we are "jealous" or "haters". Get real.... it's not about "how nice he is" or how "hot his wife is". It's about the physique he brings to the stage. Period.
He sounds like a hydraulic press when he goes through his poses. Hey there little guy calm down now.
And just what are you an expert in Grant?
I was taking Jim's statement as sarcasm dude.
And just what are you an expert in Grant?

I don't recall claiming to be an expert in anything? But I did write my IFBB student judge certificate and passed it.... and scan it it for you to see if you wish? I did it so I could understand what judges were looking for when I was still competing.
I can also post my physique pics to show my back development at 24 years of age? Just say the word.....
Your back development at age 24? What is that, your claim to fame? If you did it naturally, i'd say impressive... but your not, so I wouldn't brag because it came a lot easier for you. Not what i'd call impressive.
And your status says "expert".
NO TOP Am. Bodybuilder is natural WHATS YOUR POINT dumb ass...? You really need to stay off topics you know NOTHING about man seriously...
The point is Grant was talking about from a judging standpoint he does not understand how he won. YES HE WAS THE BEST on this given night...I would take grants and disgusted opinions over a LOT of people. They have been in the game a while.
Have you ever competed?
Have you EVER stepped onstage to be judged?
NO...you prolly have not.

I did...
Unless you have competed you really have no idea how the NPC judging is all screwed up. NO consistency whats so ever.
Peter has busted his butt for the last 4 years trying to turn pro, I am happy he finally got his card. I do wish however he would have actually HAD competition in his class, I am sure he does too. It would have been a better show at nats for sure. The LHW class is usually one of the best.
For those of you who do not like Peter, his turning pro this past weekend is actually a GOOD thing. Now he has to compete with the top guys in the 202 class, of which he will be annihilated! Peter will get better, but his genetics are very limited when compared with D Henry, J Lewis, L Priest and others. He can officially call himself a pro bodybuilder, but his days of getting major exposure will go down the crapper after he competes in his first contest and gets his ASS handed to him.Absolutely.
For smaller bodybuilders like Peter, turning pro is the road to anonymity.
I didn't give myself the "expert" status dude. Speak to Ron Avidan about that. Guess he gave it to me when I used to be a moderator here?
Firstly, you are making this way too personal. I don't even know Putnum and everyone says he's a nice guy. My opinion is simply an objective one. Secondly, I am willing to bet that I used way less back in 1995 in little old Zimbabwe to get ready for my show than Putnum is using today? When did Putnum ever claim to be natural????
Here is me (at 24) and 198lbs. I can scan a few more of me doing a lat spread if you want ...but that will just make my point even more relevant?

when Grant left competitive bb, i wondered why. i didn't realize he went the "straight-4-pay " route.
lucky dude!! btw, i think that's the first time i heard that phrase here on getbig or anywhere else!!
you should be busy doing other things ;D ;D
put up a pic of cakeface on here--so awesome
Haaaaa!!! ...... Here's my Sharpei ....stealing cake.... hence "Cakeface"!!!!
ahahhahah cakeface---awesome---see you in a few weeks? lololol---hmmm I better modify that, it sounds gay---he's comin to see a chick
Yep!!! I'm excited!!!! We're gonna have a blast up there!
Not just any chick ...... she's one of a kind!!!
PS -- whats your opinion of Putnum's Pro card win?
its ridiculous -- from what I saw he wouldnt win the Saskatchewan Provincials.
Ahhhhh yes .... this is why everyone respects you .... you are a very honest!
See you on the 12th!!!! :)
hey send this text to her "it's pretty good to see you, but it's always good to meet you"
she will laugh her ass off and it will make her night
That's definitely a new phrase on here, Haz!!!!
It wasn't that difficult a decision to make actually. I was on the brink of turning Pro ... but wasn't happy about the "risk" factors involved to get there. I was single and not dating ... so I ended up making the best decision for me financially at that time .... even if some may judge me morally. The opportunity was there and I took it.

See you on the 12th!!!! Do you drink Canadian beer?

i heard the guys don't get paid much, and thought "holy shit, they get paid??" haha.
seriously tho, i don't think Putman was much better than i was, and i couldn't place top 5 ???
That's definitely a new phrase on here, Haz!!!!well all anyone has to do is meet you and get the chance to hang out with you grant and they will realize quickly your an excellent person and genuine dude.

Actually, back in the 80's the guys didn't make much.... but these days the guys make plenty. As I said... I left Bodybuilding based purely on financial decisions.hey grant, vic was heavyweight a very light one tho, don't forget trifeca at usa's 3 yrs in row, richard jones, dugdale, heath.
Putnam has some strong body-parts... and he looked great last year. But he just isn't Pro material and we all know that. His pro card win is just an indication that the sport is more political than ever. Amazing to think that guys like Shawn Ray, Vince Taylor, Dexter Jackson and Victor Martinez once won the Light-heavy IFBB Pro cards.......
I didn't give myself the "expert" status dude. Speak to Ron Avidan about that. Guess he gave it to me when I used to be a moderator here?

Since you mentioned it, what did you use then?
Low doses of Organon Deca and Upjohn Test cypionate. It was all I could find (and all I could afford). A shot every Monday and every Thursday for just 8 weeks. Had no protein powders and no creatine in Zimbabwe. Just real food, free weights and plenty of sleep.
No orals. We certainly didn't have any thyroid meds, GH, or even Clen. And certainly no craziness like IGF-1, or insulin, or plasma expanders like I read about today.
Do most of the porn guys use test and viagra for performance enhancement?
grant post more pics of you in that comp.
also what do you call low dosages?
Grant makes a good point and not sure if he even realizes it. Years ago guy took less drugs so guys like Grant for example who had good genetics IE good muscle structure and shape and yes to some degree response to anabolics looked awesome on few anabolics. Today you see a lot of guys who are on stage with bad genetics, but take a lot of drugs who should not be bbers. If they took the same stuff these guys took back in the 80's and 90's they would not be able to compete. These guys are basically forcing their bad genetics with larger doses and different kinds of drugs that the guys from years ago did not even use. So today almost anyone can step on stage as long as they take enough drugs. Also, some of these guys who you see each year that do not seem to be growing are great examples of guys how are maxed out on muscle due to their bad genetics, not because they are natural or just not taking enough.
That's definitely a new phrase on here, Haz!!!!

Since I was there, here is the unbiased version from people who actually saw the contest.
Peter vs. Auguste. Both looked weaker than we have seen them in the past, and thus, we cant think of the best. The judges need to judge the competitors on what they look like at that moment, on Friday evening, nothing else.
So, for me, it was between those two. I felt Auguste had better legs, but Peter had the better overall physique. Granted, the whole classes, albiet a big class, was a weak class, and Peter, did deserve the class win at the end.
From unbaised people, besides me, they all concurred. Now, that isnt everyone. Others had Auguste winning the class.
So granted, Peter looked weak, and less in top shape that he was in other contests, but on this day, he was the best overall in his class.
Simple as that.
Will Peter get better if he competes in the pro ranks. Yes he will. His color was a little off here at prejudging, and obviously, things didnt go as planned, but you can bet he wont make these mistakes again.
His wife, Jessica, is already an IFBB Figure pro, and has always been very nice, and obviously, a head turned to many. She has a contract with Optimum Nutrition (she was at their booth), and also one of the few girls with a contract with AMI Weider.
So stop hating on Peter. On this day, he was the bests physique in his class.

winning your class doesn't entitle you to a pro card.it does at the nationals
