The problem is, the only way this could be effective is if he actually attempted to lower the weight under control. He's skipping that part, the only part that could be effective, entirely!
There could be benefit even without his positive part, and, in fact, he could even be using that "swing" to prop the weight up for effective negatives. You can lower much more weight than you can lift up, as JimmyJam1974 pointed out, it's physics, BUT this fellow could have still made it productive and skipped that part!
By the way, anyone, how do you post videos?

You are right. If he controlled it coming down and did it slowly he could at least benefit from the negative. I used to do negatives for my biceps on the Keiser Air preacher machine It was awesome.

I didn't do the negatives for size. I got my size from the weight i used. I did negatives to increase my tendon strength mostly. Ray liked this very much

I agree, it's up to us to step outside our comfort zones once in a while, and probe this tool, as to what the hell he's trying to do.
