Aren't you only 20 or something?

Maybe the roids and the off/on cycling is a factor?

Your probably not eating often and enough and you need to sleep extra 1 or 2  hours, like a nap after work sometime and take a short walk if you find the time. The metabolism should skyrocket if you do these things and the nutrition will be partitioned much more towards muscles as I assume you lift some weights every day.

Good luck.

I remember when I was 29. I couldn't believe how much of a change I could actually feel on a day to day basis. That stopped just prior to turning 30, but it was an "awakening moment" that made me realize that those old people aren't just pulling your chain.

Actually the fact that it came and went that fast tells me it was psychological.

The real change towards middle-age comes around late 30s, early 40s IMO.

It wasn't. I looked at it as my body adjusting to changes, and once acclimated, the feeling passed.

at 21 your metabolism should still be booming....it only starts slowing down at 30 or so and hormonal slowdown really feels at 40+....

Bodybuilders only peak at age 35+. By bodybuilding standards, you're a baby. But you're right about the metabolism drop: it does drop in your early twenties. But this is a good thing, because it helps to pack on mass. The foremost reason why adolescents can't gains mass is their ultra fast metabolism.

This is interesting, I've never heard of that before.
Surely, as far as building muscle, the higher hormones when you're younger would help you more than the slower metabolism when you're older?

only if you haven't been lifting religiously.or you start your first cycle after 35.other than that.If you have lifted consistently and did your diet right..Hate to break it to you but you have reached your peek.

People can peak out after 35.

As long as their lifestyle, training, etc... is even better than it was earlier in their life, they will improve.

Just wait till you get to 30.  21 isn't old at all man.  When arthritis kicks in and your joints start aching when the weather changes, come back and post then about being "old". :)

Not really. Let me ask you this question: which age is easier to pack mass on, 16 or 22? The obvious answer is 22. The typical 16 ear-old boy is thin as a rail despite having higher levels of testosterone than the 22 year-old because he is still completing the growth process and metabolism is very fast. I certainly couldn't pack on weight when I was 16. I only started to make gains in my early twenties.

Not really. Coleman was 39 going on 40 when he won the 2003 Oympia, and even though that wasn't his best as a bodybuilder, it was certainly his peak in terms of muscular development. Human males peakat 35+ in terrms of muscularity and density, not exactly 35. However, most men start losing their size and trengh in their early forties.

At what age do you think you reach a "point of diminishing returns?"

Thanks for the reply guys ! sorry in didn't reply sooner, I forgot about the thread since it was moved  ;D

I completely agree Suckmymuscle, seems it's getting easier to gain muscle with the slowing metabolism.
