Reminds me of a few years ago, when Nebraska played for the national championship (got smoked by Miami) even though they not only didn't win the Big 12 North, but had gotten 62 hung on them by Colorado in their last game.

I recognize and appreciate that Oklahoma is that damn good, but the fact of the matter is that Texas beat Oklahoma. Both teams have 1 loss, you HAVE to give the head-to-head matchup the most weight.
Oklahoma should be campaigning for a revenge game against Boise State in the BCS. ;D

Yeah, I was living out in L.A. then. I saw all these Nebraska people coming to town and was like, "What are you doing here? Don't you realize you're about to get murdered?"

It's almost always funny, even when it happens to a huge underdog like Auburn.

Consider that last year, for the first time, a 2-loss team won the National Championship. They'll eventually get to the point where the BCS Title Game somehow features Purdue (7-4) vs New Mexico State (1-11), and halfway through Purdue's 37-0 blowout, the ABC announcer will call the game an "instant classic."

I agree, the head to head matchup HAS to take precedence. It's insane that so often it doesn't.

Oh I love all these so called "experts" who claim that two teams in the same conference should not be able to play for the national title, even if they are ranked 1 and 2.
They wanna see the title game between teams from different conferences between cause watching a re-match is quote boring unquote.
I then call in to their shows and ask the question "If the top ranked team has zero losses, the 2nd ranked team has only one loss, both clear cut dominate teams but in the same conference AND the next ranked team has 2 loses, who should go to the national title?"
It's always entertaining to see them hang up on me abruptly and dance around the question in their egotiscal, self centered style of sports talk radio.

not really, i do think they're way overrated but they have the best record in the Big 12 north and that's all that matters, who cares anyway because they'll get slaughtered against whoever comes out on top of the Big 12 south.

Yet another reason to hate 12-team conferences.
If conferences had 10 teams, each team could play every other team in the conference each year. That would still leave room for 3 non-conference games.
There's still zero justification for not having a home-and-home with each team in basketball, though.

Oklahoma can play a little defense but they're not as good defensively as Florida, i'm hoping for a Florida/Oklahoma BCS title game, they're my two favorite teams.
