Would you ever consider marrying a person from another Political Party than your own?
-
bump
-
Arnold says yes, he would. I just thought you might like to know.
-
This question reminds of the same question but only with religion.
A person who is "too religious" might have a hard time the as a person who takes their party's ideology too serious"
Political affiliation wouldn't be a consideration for me.
-
Neither would it be for me...who cares. If they were super religious, that would have an affect. I dated a chick who thought I was weird because I thought "we came from monkeys".....whatever.
-

Arnold has become pussified by skeletor.
He is an embarassment.

Did she eat sea food?
-
As I recall...not sure.
-
who cares, I enjoy a good debate especially about politics so I wouldnt want somebody i agreed with totally on all things political...liberal chicks are supposedly more liberal in bed as well ;D
-
If James Carville and Mary Matalin can do it, then anyone can.
-
Yes, why not? Politics is mostly crap, as all politicians are basically liars and grifters.
Bleeding heart demmies do much better when matched up with more realistic conservatives. And conservatives do well when they have someone to tell them how they're being utterly ridiculous. :)

Ozmo, you're middle of the road, so you would say that. :) Thank goshie!
Your eye doesn't blink. :D
-
Absolutely, there are more important things than politics.

If you're dumb enough to think there's that big of a difference between the parties, I don't think you should marry in the first place. That may increase the great risk of reproduction. :o
"Libertarians only, bitch--get that democratic pussy out of my room! >:( "

WooHoo Hi homey! Long time no see. Glad to see you back, ...and with such wise words of wisdom too. :D

That's why i always win staring contests. ;D
You post made me laugh because when i was more "conservative" I was married to a "liberal" and that happened a lot. :)
-
If you're dumb enough to think there's that big of a difference between the parties,
Yeah, they are almost identical ::)

LOL, If you're partners political affiliation enters into your thought process of being together, you're most definitely with the wrong one anyway.

Not to piss in the punchbowl, but what makes you think conservatives are realistic about anything? Nominal conservatives are fucking gasbags that operate in a world where tax cuts pay for themselves, the constitution is an impediment, and big business really can self-regulate.
It's been the bleeding heart demmies that have had to clean up the excesses of republican/conservative mismanagement. Start with Reagan and go forward.
From economics to the environment, conservatives live in a frickin fantasyland.
And to answer the question, Yes.

Do you have any conservative friends or relatives?

I was married for 10 years to a woman who pretended to be conservative but was in reality a closet liberal. Now she's out of the closet.
She also truly believes that Obama is the reincarnation of Abraham Lincoln. She also reads daily email messages from some alien who's head of the Galactic Federation (as channeled through some nutjob). And checks her horoscope daily, believes all sorts of other new-age crap, etc. etc. blah blah blah.
So what's my point? I dunno exactly... But oftentimes one's political views are indicative of a broader overall mindset. So while I don't necessarily take issue with one's political party per se, I don't do so well with kooks and nutjobs. The ex and I remain good friends... but I see her and her wacky friends and one of the common threads with them is their liberal political stance. So make of that what you will.

Oh yeah. My cousin is an attorney to the Vatican, a member of Opus Dei and he plays poker with Antonin Scalia.
He's also a great guy. His politics are horrible though.

Thanks for participating in this poll. I am surprised that so many here picked the sure, why not option.
I'd be interested to know which posters picked the no, I couldn't marry an idiot option.
I have a couple good guesses I think ;D

Marrying a liberal woman would probably be tough to deal with mentally, but physically, she would probably do anything in bed, and with other women involved!

Yeah, they are almost identical ::)
You're right, because only married people have intercourse ::)
You're not aware of special interests. You're not aware of who owns (pays for) who.
You're not aware of the art of public portrayal. Yes, what they ultimately achieve is similar. ::)
Of course people who get married aren't the only people who reproduce, I didn't say that.
That's why I said "INCREASE THE CHANCES OF."
It means people who get married usually have kids, and are more likely to have kids than people who don't.
By no means does this mean people who don't get married never have kids. ::)

That is so funny.
So, the opposite of marrying a liberal woman "physically" would be what exactly?

My wife and I have had discussions (sometimes heated ones) on a number of issues.
She’s a registered Democrat; I’m a registered Republican. She voted for Gore in 2000 and Obama in 2008; I voted for Bush in 2000 and McCain in 2008 (we both voted for Bush in 2004).
On the issue of education, for example, she’s against school vouchers; I’m for them (that was one of our more heated debates). She thinks that school vouchers allow troublemakers to enter private schools, thus making it harder for other kids to learn. I believe that parents should have the power to put their kids in whatever schools they want and shouldn’t be at the mercy of the government to fix the bad schools.

See that's the problem. You think you know what reality is.

Women can physically be hot regardless of politics.

Interesting. Thanks Mcway.
Are the two of you usually able to understand the reasoning behind the other's opinion when they differ?
Are you both of the same religion?
